What's more annoying for me, is there are so many pointless reviews from goal umpires who are right there on the spot and should not have to review it, but something like this is going to send a tonne more decisions straight to review.

Bang on. No goal umpire will back themselves on a remotely close decision for the foreseeable future — like how every single run-out/stumping gets referred in cricket.

There's a simple fix. If it hits the post and stays in play, it's a point. If it hits the post and goes through the goals or the points, just pay it as the goal or point.

This is the way to go. It would cut out so many grey score reviews.

I’d prefer if it stays in play then it’s play on but either would work.

Now he has been gushing about Ken publicly up until this so no matter how much truth in that statement he has really embarrassed himself and the club should refuse to alllow him to interview any of our coaches or players imo.

I completely agree, AFL should fully investigate this game. Not just that last decision though, investigate the entire last quarter. Some of the most blatant cheating I have seen to get a team back into the game.

Actually let’s give them that goal. However, let’s overturn the Gulden “throw” that gave the Crows a free goal too, which was a clear handball.

As much as I’m no fan of Rowe, his childish rants last night from that recording don’t suggest he had a crack at Hinkley. He does it purely to try to get a reaction from Port supporters. He said you signed a coach you don’t want. So what? He probably reads BF. He’s always in the “ I would sign Ken camp”. He doesn’t give a shit and probably does that to a) trigger supporters and b) because he probably would prefer Hinkley to coach Port but not for the reason that he thinks he’s a good coach.

Yeah, the behind the goals vision shot by the fan makes it look like a goal.

I maintain that the TV footage doesn't give you any view that could tell you what happened.

People are bad at understanding the limitations of TV footage. It's like that Cameron out on the full last week. It might've been out on the full but unless you have an angle directly on the line you will have distorted two dimensional vision that could be playing tricks on you.

Did you watch the first half? The free kicks were something like 11-5 at one stage and Sydney got an armchair ride. It swung back the other way late in the game when the crows had all the momentum. We don't need to make this an umpire pissing contest as every game has subjective decisions.

The AFL isn't gonna change anything anyway, the result will stand.

The real heartbreak for the crows is the AFL wants Sydney in finals more than them. They've been dumped by their girlfriend on national TV.
