I use it on an iPad and I have no problems whatsoever ... For those people who have had problems - if you have cheap crappy internet service, then you will get what you pay for!!!

PS ... I have Bigpond Elite Cable, and also Bigpond 4g mobile on the iPad

thank you for your condescending post. i have a very expensive telstra ADSL service, the best i can get on my rotting 100 year old copper lines in rural victoria.

irrespective of that, the problems with the app have absolutely nothing to do with the quality of my internet connection and everything to do with the fact that the AFL released an app with buggy code that causes it to crash constantly, on many devices.

congratulations on your fabulous internet service and wealth. if you'd like to discuss technology, i'm happy to oblige. i have a feeling i might know a touch more than you do though.

in the meantime, go **** yourself

I've had the AFL app on both Apple and Android devices and I think the issue may just be an android problem.

Last year I had the app on my iPhone and it was far from perfect but it seemed to do the trick and was worth the price imo. New year new phone I download the app on my android phone (galaxy s4), the first few games it turns out to be quite buggy and the picture was cutting out every 10 minutes or so. So then I'd have to refresh the app and try again. It'd normally take 3 or so times before it was up and running again... Then 5 or 10 minutes later the same thing would happen again. It was frustrating as hell, but it was better than nothing I suppose. Skip to the West Coast game and the app is unwatchable and constantly crashing. I'm not usually an angry person but by this stage I was pretty pissed off trying to watch the game. Being so frustrated I resorted to subscribing on my iPad. For the rest of the game it ran smoothly and it didn't crash once. Used the iPad again for the Geelong game and it did crash a few times but for the most part it was pretty smooth sailing. At the half time break I wanted to jump on bigfooty on the iPad so I switched over to my phone and once again I couldn't watch a few minutes of it without it constantly crashing.

This is a screenshot I just took. While it's obviously not HD quality, I'm pretty happy with the quality. The android version is much the same

in tony abbott's australia no-one should be saying 'you get what you pay for' with regard to internet service.

especially when it has nothing to do with the problem at hand.

I do love it when you fire up.

You should just drop the iPad and tilt your head up a bit.

Hey presto! AFL in HD.

Can I start a thread with links to all the match replay mp4s from AFL.com? I have them all on notepad. Just so much easier than trying to navigate the Smart Replay site...
I second this idea, the quality of these replays are pretty bloody good. It'd be a decent thread that'd help out those that are having trouble with the app.

FWIW I have not had a single problem with the AFL Live app on iPhone or iPad this year. Dropouts were pretty common last year, but this year has been smooth sailing.

Cheers Wookie.

Don't watch TFS that much these days but I did flick it on for a couple of minutes last night and noticed there were a couple of Port Supporters in the crowd at Crown last night.

Sam says GWS will be lucky to score against us, that has to be the first positive thing he has said about us in 10 years.

na he jumped on our boat last week when garry tipped us and he didnt he lent across the table and said when gary said port, something along the lines that this will be extremely close and wouldnt be surprised if port get up good choice

Are you kidding? He was a big supporter of ours over 2011 and 2012. Yes he chided us a bit for being crap, but we were. He jumped on as a member and to the supporter's fund and drummed up public support for us.

Yeah, the whole 'Victorians = evil/ignorant' default setting is so West Lakes. We have more friends east of Mt Gambier than in our own town. Fact.

I pay 140 or so bucks a month for phone and internet package. I paid 89 bucks for AFL Livepass. I missed all of the 3rd quarter and half of the last in the West Coast game, and had intermittent crashes during our last game. 'Get what you pay for'? Right.....
