On umpiring, there were two appalling calls close to each other that got stuck in my mind: one, against Wines, which should have been ball up; not long after, we clearly lost the ball, knocked over, and it was “play on”.

Disappointing to lose that, especially after putting ourselves in a winning position fairly late in the game.

I thought Visentini was a big positive. Competed well in the ruck with 25 hit outs, and excellent follow up work. 8 clearances (highest on the ground). Massive turnaround from how far off the pace he looked on debut (in really difficult circumstances).

I would love, just once, for the Club to make it clear that it is aware of the rubbish we cop week in week out from umpires. The calls and non-calls tonight in the last at critical times were beyond incompetence.
