What?..

Cleanhands comments on TT are fair and reasonable.

He’s simply stated all along that TT has a few areas in need of improvement.

I’m pretty sure 9 out if every 10 people you ask would say the very same thing..

That he hears footsteps? It's one of the more derogatory critiques you could make of a player's game. I don't think 9 out of 10 people are saying that at all.

That's precisely the connotation, and you know it.
Bulls-it, he’s intimidated by it you’re the one using the word coward I have never called him that, and maybe check further where I have rated him and continually said he needs to be persisted with instead of glossing over look for the things I’m critical about

He's not a coward, he's just scared - good one.

Hearing footsteps doesn’t make you a “coward” your words
That's the clear inference when you imply a player hears footsteps. Doesn't matter how you dress it up, you're essentially labelling him a coward, which is of course bullshit.

I don't think RT is one of those 'gentle giants' at all, he's already top 20 in the league for contested marks per game

That said, he needs to take the next step in '24 and eradicate the games where he doesn't have much influence (needs to be kicking goals most games). Part of that is knowing how to position himself best inside F50 to not just be around the footy, but also get his hands on it. That includes knowing when to lead at the footy, when to out-muscle his defender etc

Call it what you like he definitely needs more aggression in his game and to hit packs harder more consistently than he does up to now...essentially use his big strong physique more to his and the team's advantage.
That's quite different to the hearing footsteps connotation.

He's a baby. He's not going to physically dominate the league until he's matured playing as a key position forward.

What is it with you and hating our talented players? It's a theme at this point.

I will say, I would’ve liked to have seen more fwd line presence from him by now. Logan McDonald performed quite a bit better purely inside F50 last season (though RT showed more talent up the ground)

This PS is super important for him, needs to be dominating by at least 2025 to live up to his pure talent level

Of course it is.

It's premium irony, of course, to throw that out there then not be willing to own its meaning.

For what it’s worth I’d much rather RT, but let people interpret that how they wish

Wasn't the big sell on McDonald pre-draft that he was AFL ready?

Thilthorpe plays up the ground more, and gets a lot more contested ball. He needs to learn forward craft, he needs to continue to develop his frame, he needs to get confident in the idea he can physically dominate at the level. Those are all things we should expect.

As I say, the important thing is whether you can see signs there's a real player in there or not. It won't flash every game, just sometimes. Re-watch the first Showdown if you're in doubt.

This is basically where we were with Fogarty for years. People calling him lazy and useless etc for taking time to develop into the position. This year's variation is Thilthorpe isn't trying or is afraid. People said it about Tex when he was starting out for gods sake.

The position takes time. That just is what it is. He's going to be great.

He will be the guy that brings back Pagan's paddock for us and he could be absolutely frightening 1 out inside 50 - has strength, pace, great below the knees and is can kick goals. I think he will really start to shine when Tex starts to fade and that could be in the next 12/24 months

Yeah I’m confident the development will come, the flashes were there right from his debut, just that I think the timeline for it to all click with him is in the next two years or never. I can’t think of too many elite KPFs who have taken six years to really break out?

If/when it all clicks he’ll be an absolutely terrifying matchup, no doubt

Two years is a football life time. If we're smart he'll have doubled his current games tally in that time.

Logan McDonald didn't share a forward line with three players who kicked 146 goals between them + a strong support cast (which TT is a part of).

Yes, but he’s still shown to be somewhat raw as a F50 player when he’s had some chances

It’s all part of the development curve, though
