Sorry what was the Libs policy settings except for law and order? There was a huge billboard saying they would control gangs?

This is in circumstances of historically unprecedented incarceration rates where every prison in Victoria is double bunked

Was there a huge billboard also calling the opposition leader a murderer? Ok, no, there wasn't. But there was on Labor's part. They ran ads calling Matt Guy a murderer. That is the campaign Andrew's ran this time around. Irrespective of what I think of Daniel Andrews, he did lead a party who ran those ads. But, this is the same guy who led a party that rorted votes last election, so nothing surprises me. I am not even surprised his supporters justify it anymore.

Those on the fanatical right love Abbott and Putin about as much as you love Daniel Andrews. If you read anything that I'd written you'd understand that it could be left, right, or otherwise, but individuals like Andrews, Abbott and Putin - they justify anything. They all have their believers. You are an Andrew's believer, but I bet if the label was on the other party you'd be quick to criticise similar tactics. I never said you were an ALP voter, but anyone who justifies Andrew's negative Matthew Guy ads is hardly an unbias participant in this discussion.
All I've seen you do is spin my words when their meaning is clear. You clearly cannot handle somebody disagreeing with you so much so that you put words in their mouth to justify as to why you're right.

All I said was that the ALP ran ads that highlighted their successes, such as free TAFE and the removal of level crossings. You accuse me of being biased in this discussion. My participation in this discussion is that I highlighted the fact that Andrews and the ALP ran positive ads about what they've done, yours has been to spin that as "justifying that Andrews accused Guy of killing people".

Bit of feedback from the day doing alp how to vote cards in a liberal seat, and speaking to other alp volunteers in similar seats

Outside the odd "**** of thieving campaigner" you would get from old blokes, one message was said over and over again.

People don't like the alp, but at least they are getting stuff done.

For all the race baiting, people just want to see shit happen that makes lives better. People were happy to put up with buses, because they knew what it was leading to.

If the libs want a chance in may, imo stop playing the race card.

They will go lower and deeper and dirtier.
It's in their DNA, they are bereft of any other ideas, and it's the only factor commonly agreed on by all their factions, from the Greedy Right of Centre greasy-talkers through the RWNJs to the Raving Fruitloops.

The people who swung (and in largeer numbers in affluent booths) away from lib might subsequently think they did two things, kept good government in Vitoria and sent the proverbial message to Canberra Libs.
They may not swing quite so hard in the federal election

Little chance they do for many reasons, not least that they’ve got the new grandfather of the party, old man Johnny H, chirping away in the background reminding them he won a federal election by doing exactly that.

Meh it is all tactics. Like the robotext message which had a link that I dare not click in case there was a virus with no political attribution (vote4change)

Did you get a response from VEC?

Did you get a response from VEC?
Yes they said the attribution was in the hyperlink therefore valid electoral material. And they don’t regulate how the parties get mailing lists.

And the ACMA state that registered political parties are exempt from regulation about spam. I will still make written complaint highlighting that vote4change did not identify themselves as the liberal party and included a hyperlink which could have been anything (ie I want my sms spam to clearly state who is sending it and also a means eg a person just like the tv ads that I can send feedback to)

I’m also tossing up reporting vote4change as terrorists for spreading unknown hyperlinks (they say be alert not alarmed after all...)

Oh they also suggested raising it directly with the party involved.

I will go through the ACMA process first I think. I would have been more comfortable had vote4change message been “liberal party” as the sender as this would be clear attribution

In a perverse way, I hope the libs do double down because I would be morbidly curious to know what that would even look like.

“We hate brown people, and promise to have them all on the first plane out if elected. We will also cancel Medicare and unemployment benefits, as if you can’t afford to pay for health care and don’t have a job, you are obviously a loser”

That seems the logical conclusion of where they are headed.

Then if they lost every seat, Bolt, Devine, Jones etc would still blame the party moderates and the fact they didn’t get the message across well enough.

I have conducted several searches and cannot find one instance of Guy being accused of murder/killing people by Labor/Andrews and am waiting for Farm Boy to post a link.

Maybe, maybe not.

If you are disgruntled Turnball supporter living in Deakin, Aston, Menzies or Flinders, all the polls are pointing to Labor landside, might these result give you motivation to cast a strategic vote for Labor, and purge the party room of Sukkar, Tudge, Andrews and Hunt?

You clearly never watched FTA TV during the campaign, lucky you. I doubt I saw a single ad break that didn’t have that ad. His positive ad talking shit about his days on the farm probably saw once or twice a day but they clearly had the attack ad as their no 1 buy.

An unrestrained socialist Andrews government = My dream

**** off Darren Hinch
**** off stupid taxi drivers
**** off Jeff Kennet and stop calling for people to be sacked

Of course.

I just had a thought. About a decade ago I did vote Liberal and many people I knew voted liberal. Now none of us do, without us actually having any discussion with each other.

That right there is where they have lost people, those in the centre who hate the far right nutters and also like Andrews because he’s getting shit done.

Link me to it then so I can judge for myself. Surely it would be somewhere on YouTube or social media, should be easy.

I do watch quite a bit of FTA and also YouTube where a number of Election ads were shown first, didn't see that one.

A bit like this maybe?

What did Neil Mitchell say in regards to the Victorian election results on his morning program on 3AW today?

On iPad using BigFooty.com mobile app

Could only handle him for about 5 minutes but after a grudging congrats to Andrews he quickly turned his attention to the upper house where he tipped “ legalisation of marijuana, decrease in speeding fines and increase in speed limits”. In other words he was completely spun out by it all and didn’t know what to say so went with complete nonsense.
