It’s an incredibly dumb thing to do. If it was the game winner, then maybe.
All it does is motivate the opposition.
It backfired spectacularly. It’s embarrassing for him, it’s embarrassing for the club, and he is now very much on the wrong side of showdown folklore.

Dunno about that. He's an A grade flog, but I don't think he's even smart enough for that.
It's a pretty common taunt to show that it's game over. Maybe a poor choice given the circumstances but I didn't even link the two until someone on here claimed it.
He might, however, get a cheeky fine for flipping the bird at the crowd after he missed that dribbler in the last.

Why? Thats always been the port way, dave grainger on cornes, russell johnston on carl dilena, others have listed more recent ko's of crows players. The list over the decades is endless. You expect it from them so need to be aware what may come.
I was p155ed at the biased umpiring last night, cost us badly but i always thought our attack and defence was better than theirs and the only way they were winning that game was if their midfield smashed us and it did. The coaches were also beaten in the box....they needed to have heeded earlier season games whete the oppo coach locked butters down and it went a long way to port losing. We just let him run around like an unregistered dog. They also needed to work JHF over much harder, he is top drawer but was never made to defend the other way.
Still, lets hope they draw GWS in week 1 here or over there, lose and cop.a raging Hawthorn in the semi and get punted in straight sets again. We still have pick 4

You sort of expect it, but Kenny seemed pretty resigned to the fact that he's going on a holiday. At one point basically said "we'll accept whatever they give him."
Always thought Luke was great but I'm calling it now. This kid will be even better.
The good news is that we as a club (hopefully) learnt a lot from tonight.
- Our midfield is simply not good enough. Most be priority number 1,2,3 and 4 for drafting and recruiting. Forget anything else.
- ROB is still a rubbish ruck. The fact we have no plan to replace him is reason enough that Reid should be sacked.
- Our coaches are shithouse. When the opposition have no good tall defenders, putting all your tall forwards next to each other at every contest is just dumb. Isolate them you morons.
- Our coaches are shithouse. When the opposition have no good tall defenders, you want to get the ball in quickly so that they can't get their players back in time to help cover. Playing a slow chipping game style is dumb.
- Our coaches are shithouse. I've been saying for 12 months that Dawson is no good resting up forward. He's just not a forward. He is however a competition best half back. So maybe, just maybe, he plays half back, then goes on ball, then to half back. Why you would choose to limit the impact of your best player is beyond me. Utter stupidity.
- Our coaches are shithouse. Port love to get the ball forward of the contest for their clearances. Great that we let them do it all game. Idiots.
- Within 5 minutes it was clear we needed to run with Butters who already had 20 disposals. But nah, let's let him run around unchecked. Genius!

- Our coaches are shithouse. At half time Nicks talked about how he wanted a slow game style. He's learnt nothing from rounds 1-4 this year and will enter next season with the same plan.
- Our coaches are shithouse. We can all see the decline in Laird. He's cooked. He panics with ball in hand. Throws it. Gives away dumb free kicks. He's an absolute liability. So will only play another 100 games for us.
- Our board is shithouse. If they couldn't watch and listen to Roo's comments all night and not see that he's the problem, then they are all f@#$wits.

Whatever was said, Hinkley had no reply or disagreement. Just interpreting the body language.
Nicks was clearly complaining about something. Might have been the booing of Rankine...or the alleged racist comments from the Port crowd.
Whatever it was, Hinkley didn't have a response.
Yep, needed a big game after that stupid comment.
The fat drug cheat has probably been watching Steph Curry at the Olympics.

I waited until nearly midnight for the AFL to put up our presser to see if Nicks would call it out but just did his usual deflect of "Yeah well we put attention into star players like Rozee..."

We're a young team and list. This became a liability in those crucial minutes.

That’s why getting ANB should help us
An actual veteran performer with premiership experience, rather than a below average role player who goes missing late in games more often than not
Realistically we need more than ANB, though
With St Kilda winning we still would have kept pick 4.
I guess now we are protected from any Sydney shenanigans and accidently winning next week.
Need to explore Dowling as a Mid. Him and Edwards are our last hopes right now.

How many times 1 disposal in the last quarter?
I bet every loss he would get 2 or less disposals in final quarters over his career.
