Standard scripted defense of a scummy hit
Crazy Eyes Meme GIF by MOODMAN

Port supporters on Facebook trying to defend the bump. They are all in for a shock when Houston gets 5 weeks

The good news is that we as a club (hopefully) learnt a lot from tonight.
  1. Our midfield is simply not good enough. Most be priority number 1,2,3 and 4 for drafting and recruiting. Forget anything else.
  2. ROB is still a rubbish ruck. The fact we have no plan to replace him is reason enough that Reid should be sacked.
  3. Our coaches are shithouse. When the opposition have no good tall defenders, putting all your tall forwards next to each other at every contest is just dumb. Isolate them you morons.
  4. Our coaches are shithouse. When the opposition have no good tall defenders, you want to get the ball in quickly so that they can't get their players back in time to help cover. Playing a slow chipping game style is dumb.
  5. Our coaches are shithouse. I've been saying for 12 months that Dawson is no good resting up forward. He's just not a forward. He is however a competition best half back. So maybe, just maybe, he plays half back, then goes on ball, then to half back. Why you would choose to limit the impact of your best player is beyond me. Utter stupidity.
  6. Our coaches are shithouse. Port love to get the ball forward of the contest for their clearances. Great that we let them do it all game. Idiots.
  7. Within 5 minutes it was clear we needed to run with Butters who already had 20 disposals. But nah, let's let him run around unchecked. Genius!
  8. Our coaches are shithouse. Murphy. Enough said.
  9. Our coaches are shithouse. At half time Nicks talked about how he wanted a slow game style. He's learnt nothing from rounds 1-4 this year and will enter next season with the same plan.
  10. Our coaches are shithouse. We can all see the decline in Laird. He's cooked. He panics with ball in hand. Throws it. Gives away dumb free kicks. He's an absolute liability. So will only play another 100 games for us.
  11. Our board is shithouse. If they couldn't watch and listen to Roo's comments all night and not see that he's the problem, then they are all f@#$wits.
I could go on...
He's such a leech. Played a big part in where we are now and yet uses the club to breath remnants of life into his plummeting media career. Is incapable of looking past himself.

I don't think it'll be a shock to them, rather it will justify and fuel their victim complex and conspiracy theories
They way a lot of them are posting, they genuinely can't see anything wrong with what he did. They are all meat heads living in the 80s still.

The AFL has made it very clear that if you elect to bump and the result is a concussion, you are in trouble.

Our midfield mix is disgustingly bad and we'd perform better if we just changed it up with our current players.

Why is our first port of call when slotting in new mids moving our only All Australian midfielder (Dawson) out of the midfield?

Why are we prioritising Berry over Soligo as an inside mid when the latter has shown far more at AFL level?

Why is Crouch being played as a handball receive distributor instead of an in an under contested ground ball winner?

When the game is on the line why are we adding Laird to the midfield when he has failed in that role to the point of being moved out?

Why aren't we prioritising clean one touch midfielders like Zac Taylor?

Why have we decided that Rankine should spend most of his time up forward when we've seen what he can do in the midfield and our delivery to our forwards isn't good enough to make use of him?

Why have we given up trialing Rachele and Pedlar in the midfield?

Why did it take until the end of the year to develop Curtin in the midfield when it was obvious this was a good position for him when he was drafted?

Why did we drop Billy Dowling yet have persisted with Laird, Berry and Murphy?

New coach and better mids.

We need to take the punt on Oliver and pick 4 hopefully gets Draper.

Luko does not fix our main issue.

Unfortunately Nicks will be here in 2025. And we need to waste another season, 2025, for him to be sacked.

There is an unofficial rule on Bigfooty that you never wish an injury onto a player.

However that doesnt apply to the Port Adelaide Football Club, an absolute classless bogan feral supporter base.

This I took from their board. Right here is the majority of their supporter base being represented.

Disgraceful and total lack of class. finbarr I thought was a half decent poster but clearly I was wrong. And for Young Gun #6 to be trolling (clearly crows hating emoji responses) every single post in recent pages…just get a life sad person.

Nicks

I waited until nearly midnight for the AFL to put up our presser to see if Nicks would call it out but just did his usual deflect of "Yeah well we put attention into star players like Rozee..."

The **** we do. Not like that. There's "attention" and then there's sniping.
Incredible that campaigner Port supporters are responding with 'laughing' emojis to vision of Houston's snipe. They don't even try to hide the fact that they're campaigners.

We have some really good players developing in the backline
We have a great forward line, if we can replace Murphy with ANB & bring in JL, it will be even better

The talent is wasted having Nicks, Burns & VB coaching them

Lets hope the recruiting department don't butcher this years draft
This, in particular. Our stoppage and clearance work has been horrible all season, and not getting any better. How many time last night did we witness easy wins for Port in the clearances. Always meant we were under the pump as the ball was going their way 90% of the time. VB needs to go and I'd prefer the others too, but he's the main culprit.

I defend Rachele's football more than most but last night was cringey as all hell.
Has had a very underwhelming year overall. A few good games but a large number has been invisible. Certainly not improved from last year. After Jones and Pedlar, perhaps my next most disappointing player for the year.

Soligo excellent first half of season but fading which is logical with midfield mins. Nank also fading in the last mth or so.

Ideally we bring in Ryan and Edwards for a taste in the last game so they can benchmark against a very good team.

The club's goal now is to get a feel-good trade of a peripheral player, hope for an easy fixture, sneak in to 8th (or that new "wildcard" rubbish), and pat themselves on the back for a job well done for the next five years.

"Make the wildcard and anything can happen..."
Luko....

Don't really need him. But will Gold dust for our PR guys.

Hes a small forward who’s going to end on at least 30 goals in his 3rd year. Up from 23 last year. 3 goalless games vs 7 last year. Hard to say he’s not improved.

All that looks ok. It’s the squibbing and cockiness that is the problem.

F*ckin’ embarrassing.

I got absolutely piled on recently for criticizing this selfish bastard.

Now everybody sees that I was right.
I still don't see an issue with him celebrating goals. That is a happy moment. He needs to be happy to play well.

Although his celebration last night in my view was unacceptable.

If he is going to make a comment about rival supporters he needs to harden up himself.

Last night was probably the first time he has ever been booed. It affected him, made even worse by the stupid goal celebration aimed at their supporters

He put more pressure on himself to perform in Showdowns now. He will forever be booed by them.

He is too soft to handle the boos.

And brought it upon himself with stupidity.

On Rachele overall, as a high end draft pick he is a bust. Will have a good AFL career, but not good enough to be a genuine game breaker.

Last night was his chance to do so. He didn't.

I feel like Port won the mind games last night. There was no public "we hate the Crows" this time around (don't think there was earlier this year either). They seemed much more focussed on what they had to do and not worrying about what we were doing.

Hopefully Rachele has learnt something else again this week. Port clearly used it as extra motivation, and judging by Rash's post goal celebrations, it was playing on his mind also. He was either going to kick a bag or be non-existent after making those comments, and unfortunately he was virtually non-existent.

I can't believe no-one has brought out the McAdam incident as a reference to the Houston one yet. Surely it's very similar but with a different outcome? Minimum should be 4 weeks, regardless of Ken sprouting that he's a terrific bloke.

This was another example of Nix's lack of tactical nous. We all knew the game would be won and lost in the midfield, but I didn't see too many changes happening in their during the duration of the game. Butters was racking up possies at will, but there never appeared to be an attempt to quell him. In fact, all I noticed was to revert back to the 'old guard' (Laird and Crouch) in the middle.

This loss leaves a pretty sour taste in the mouth, there's every chance Port could go deep in finals this year, and the premiership race is now wide open due to Swans losing form at the wrong time of the year.
