We aren't dropping Peatling, and nor should we.
He got smashed yesterday and was ineffective at clearance- we lost center clearance quite badly. He also fumbled a good amount. Not saying he’s a dud but he’s out of form. Selection integrity for everyone or just the players you don’t like?

Had 20 and a goal the week before, I'll forgive one off day. Particularly given the 2s didnt play.

No changes for me. Scholl to sub and a full game for Draper
Why Sholl? He has performed better this season than our other winger Cumming who has a history of soft tissue injuries, I would be making Cumming Sub to manage him as he'll be important when we play better sides than North.

Harsh on Sholl. He would have been in our best players yesterday.

Had 19 last week, that’s consecutive weeks in the teens while everyone around him on both sides are getting good numbers. More concerning is only 5 clearances and 6 tackles combined across 2 games - that’s not good enough for someone playing his role. I know he’s a shiny new toy but I’d much rather Draper into the midfield rotation and Nank into the team.

19, 20.... huge difference there.

He's playing as the 4th banana in the midfield and got 4th banana numbers. You're not going to drop a guy 2 games into his time with a new club.

Would be incredibly poor coaching to do so.

Performance dictates selection, not where someone played last year. He’s a good player and a solid pick up but while we have quality players like Nank and Bond in the 2s, we should select based on form. If Laird or Milera had been as ineffective and fumbly as Peatling yesterday, most of this board would be screaming for blood.

Given the 2s didnt play yesterday I can't see it happening. Pedlar wouldn't be far off Given how he played in the SANFL trial last week.

BOG in the midfield.

The thought of dropping Peatling because he was a bit fumbly, lol.
No time for fumbling in 2025, game closes in fast. 36 CBA’s for just 2 centre clearances across 2 games, with only 3 more around the ground in 8 quarters. If Peatling isn’t getting clearance or tackling, we have better offensive options.

I’m not desperate to see him out, think he’ll be a good piece for us this year but would I rather see Sid play a full game in the midfield? 1000%. Would I rather see Nank - who I consider one our unique young talents - come in. Yes I think so.

Murray played one of his best games in a while yesterday & was far better than Keane.

I'm more comfortable with a Murray 1 on 1 contest than Keane.
So am I. My point is that Keane is not being picked for his 1 on 1 stopping skills. He’s being picked for his intercept marking, attacking kicking (including kick outs).

He was our #1 kick out player yesterday.

He’s closer to Worrell than Murray in his role.

Very important to our game plan.

Maybe Crouch, I still want to see whether we’re just as good or better with another ball winning and dynamic midfielder instead of him.
Crouch, as sub? :confusedv1:
Crouch is an in-and-under ball-better who has been very effective this year without Laird getting in his way (or demanding the ball, flat-footed, a metre away), now having the likes of the speedy Soligo etc to get the ball out to.

And? If Draper is going to get into the 22, a mid has to end up as sub. It’s got to be someone and I’d prefer to see what we look like without Crouch. Purely on form, you’d probably drop Peatling to sub.

Which defender is coming out for Nank though? Cumming might even need to go back there the way he’s going.

So far we’ve comfortably beaten last years 10th and 11th side, both injury hit, I’d be putting the lid back on for now.
I agree. We'll have a much clearer picture wrt our defence and Opposition strengths/weaknesses towards the Bye.
100 point win coming up this week and then a genuine test that should tell us a lot more than the opening 3 rounds.
I'd have said the same thing until now. There's some topsy-turvy stuff happening eg we belted the Saints who beat Geelong yesterday. NM lead Demons @ 1/2 time by 2 goals. They might still lose but look anything but a pushover at this stage. I still expect a Crows win, but 10+ goals looks less likely.
But a 10 goal win at the G does feel pretty good,
Yep, sweet, loving it.
makes me lean towards a good showing up north.
If we can win 2 out of 3 of the Suns/Cats/GWS stretch, I'll be feeling bullish.

And nothing. The post was benign/harmless.
If Draper is going to get into the 22, a mid has to end up as sub.
Why, please? Nicks has often used non-mids as sub, but the Peatling idea is ok.
It’s got to be someone and I’d prefer to see what we look like without Crouch.
Again, why please? In case he's injured? Crouch is playing well and doing a good job for us.
(So is eg Fogarty. Do we need to see what we look like without Fogarty?)

Yes, would be a good choice.

(next week's opponents are 5 goals up on Melbourne, early last 1/4)

I still think we beat them, but they are not playing like easybeats today.

EDIT, 4 minutes later, now 7 GOALS up.
