Nope CEY was seen running laps with Menzel, Grigg, Wigg and Dear.

But that doesn't mean much. I get the feeling that they want to see more from CEY eg; running both ways a bit more.

Ps - If we can get those 3 insane lefties in the side one day, hitting a target will never be a problem. Some of the tricks these lads were doing tonight were seriously impressive, especially Wigg.

Id like to see a bit more speed in the backline this week.

Out : Cheney (omit no matchup) McKay (inj)
In: menzel Milera

Menzel might not have the biggest tank, or get the most stats in the SANFL, but think he'll lift in an AFL setting. Just has a touch of class.

Would give Smith the run with job on Danger.
Hendo to play 7th man defender / link man in defence.

No disputing the opposition they have played but that does not mean they are not very good. Selwood, Danger, Motlop, Duncan, Caddy etc are quality.
Not disputing their quality and you can only defeat, whomever you're drawn against. Their early season stats however will be distorted by playing weak teams.

Also, has Cameron spent much time in the midfield? His elite tackling, speed, decent disposal might be handy.

Sounds like it was all related to who had most minutes in SANFL ie Lyons VB were managed and Milera kept out

Their midfield depth is a massive issue.

Ours is as a shallow as a toddlers pool.

We've chosen to deploy resources to the outside. Even preferring Mackay to play inside ahead of a genuine stoppage player. Whether we re-think this structure is the question though. Losing a genuine defender may have tipped the scales far enough where we need to.

Why are people still suggesting Menzel in ?? Have they not seen him play

I think alot of us are keen because we believe he is the kind of player to lift with the competition.

I was bloody excited watching the 1st 1/4 of the SANFL the other week when he racked up 8 touches in less than a 1/4. And devastated when he went off with concussion. He looked as if he'd finally hit a vein of form.

When Menzel lifts and gets a bit of form back, he is deadly. As our 5th forward, part time mid, he could tear a game apart.

I agree he needs to show form for a couple of games, but you don't leave talent like that rotting in the twos for longer than you have too

My guess is McGovern to get a good hitout in the Sanfl & manage his load in his 1st year playing Afl.

If his body isn't quite holding up then I'm happy with that. But if it's just to find the footy and our midfield can't be trusted to guarantee supply then I'd like to see him in the backline first. It's a distinct area of low depth and he's got all the tools.

Hey guys there is a rumor floating around that Walker has a very serious foot injury which has the potential to force him out of the game indefinitely or even possibly into retirement ala Matthew Egan if it gets worse, whats the word on your side of the border as I think its pretty clear he is carrying something, why would they continue playing him if thats the case? Would hate to see another champion cut down too early.

We've been told he had an injury in the first month couldn't train very much but is over it now and is back to full training.

Not career threatening. He wouldnt be playing the past couple of weeks otherwise.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha rubbish

He's getting over a foot condition and back in full training

If it was a serious condition like a fracture or stress fracture of the navicular he'd be in a boot and nowhere near a footy field

Most of his issues are form related but he may also be having a flat spot mentally in his career IMO following on from a few significant events

Just reporting what has been thrown around and was also on one of the local radio stations here but probably just looking for a story.

All the players running laps wouldn't be far from selection if the right player was unavailable. Wigg and Grigg were both good against North, Menzel we know had limited game time and is class and Dear would be a possible Tex replacement if he does rest and would provide a bit more ruck relief. Running laps could be part of the management process to have them right for Friday if there are forced changes.

If you are good no to have someone run with danger I'd get one of the younger guys with something to prove to do it...
