Expect Lloyd to play well this week, his been cristised in the herald sun again today, usally if someone or a team gets cristise they have a great game the week after!

I think us by a point after a VERY close and very messy game!!!

LLOYD and LUCAS kicked 8 between them last year at this venue and the team kicked something like 15 . 5 too win by a point , eagles kicked 14.10.

cant see them being that usefull (Lloyd is nearly finished) and accurate this time round , if the eagles can mantain last weeks form then they will win more than they loose for the second half of the season .

eagles 24 points.

YEP! both teams havent been performing well which is no secret, so my guess we won't see a a highly skilled game more so a very sloppy one! :thumbsu:

You might be surprised, because we are both crap teams there might be a high lack of pressure on the player when he has the ball. Could be very entertaining. Bombers by 10 points.

Hird killed us in Rd11 last year, he wont be therethis year
Rd 22 Lucas cost us the home final in a nail biting win.
We are a much BETTER side then the bumbers..

EAGLES to win this by 38pts

This isn't the same team as last year. Our players that are still there are not playing to their potential. Injury list is quite big, although it was last year too.

When have we looked that much better than the Bombers? 1 quarter last week, a game against Adelaide, when else though? Away we have been thrashed all times but one.

I don't know how some Eagles supporters are so confident. At the dome, it's going to be tough.

Um, I like your confidence but have you watched the team/seen our ladder position lately?

You are 2 and 9, dont get ahead of your self.

Just an article guys relating to the game.

Bring on Bombers, says Sumich

WEST Coast Eagles premiership players Chad Fletcher and Michael Braun did not make the trip to Melbourne for Friday night’s match against Essendon.

However, assistant coach Peter Sumich is bullish on his team’s chance against the Bombers.

"We think they’re all winnable, I know a lot of people might think that’s a bit off the mark, but we thought we could beat Collingwood after a great game against Adelaide and we think we can beat Essendon," Sumich said before training at Junction Oval on Thursday.

"Brauny’s got a sore knee and we had it really penciled in this game, he’s been fighting it for a number of weeks, we rested him and he’ll be back next week.

"Chad Fletcher had a [sore] back early in the year, but it came good and he’s just stiffened up a fair bit now and he was another one we thought [could do without] the plane trip and he’ll be right next week against Geelong.

"Fletcher’s form has been great and Braun’s, I think, over the last two weeks has picked right up, so body-wise if they were 100 percent to go they would be here, but their bodies are just a little bit off."

West Coast has scored just four more points than the last-placed Demons this season, but Sumich confirmed the attack will be bolstered by the return of young forward Mark LeCras from a groin injury that has sidelined him since round one.

But Ashley Hansen, earmarked early in the week to return, is still unavailable with his presence sorely missed in the sputtering forward line.

"I think it’s got a lot to do with our personnel rotating through there, we’ve had a lot of players in there and we haven’t been settled," Sumich said.

"Of course our midfield group isn’t as it was a year or two ago, so they’re learning the caper too and hopefully they can start hitting the scoreboard as well."

Sumich maintained the fierce West Coast-Essendon rivalry of the Mick Malthouse-Kevin Sheedy era had mellowed with John Worsfold keen for this group to make their own history, but said he was looking forward to a good contest nonetheless.

"They’ve got a similar side to us, but they’ve got a very good forward line still," he said.

“I still think Matthew Lloyd and Scott Lucas are great players and on their day can kick a winning score. Some of their younger kids have been great this year and they’ve had their ups and downs the same as us.

"It’s going to be actually a great game in my opinion because it will be interesting to see which side gets on top early and whether the other side can kick a couple of goals and get back into the game."

This is the best young Eagles team I have seen all year.

Butler is back!

Good to see Ebert back to. Anyone from a big footy family has got to have talent and I think he does.

I also like the way Masten goes about his footy.

The baby Bombers are gone. They lost their 2nd most promising young talent after Davey with Houli gone this week.

West Coast might not kick a huge bag of goals but I think they should kick enough to hurt this Bombers side.

Going to get amongst some live updates on the blog tonight for those that can't see the game, so if you can't get to a TV drop on by and I'll keep you up to date!

FWIW I think the Eagles by about 3 goals, but the youngsters playing in Melbourne has me more than worried - we all know how quickly the Bombers can get a run on and kill off a game in a quarter
