Blueslinger. he has taken some fantastic marks. just a few weeks ago he marked 40 out and kicked it... He's not as good as kruezer yet but he jumps so high that he'll be able to get at the top of the pack and take some really nice marks

STOP SAYING BRING IN BANNO FOR AUSTIN.

BANNO IS A VFL PLAYER... There is no way he could hold CHB.. or any position in the back line against richmond. Want him to take the third tall? ok that's someone who's 6"6 (or however tall vickery is).. want him to take their second/first tall? ok. they've both got more talent in their little finger than banno. & assuming banno takes Morton or Reiwoldt.. who does Thornton line up against? Remember. Banno is only 190cm. pretty short for a defender who can't play small. and mitch morton certainly plays small (jammo probably his match)

If a VFL specialist comes in to be a defender against richmond it should probably be hartlett.

Makes no sense to drop Bentley - we need to give him more than one game at a time to find his feet. Not sure what the plan is with Hartlett, might be that they are giving him a year in the 2's to get his HS right with less pace but clearly we are hoping he is a part of the future and might be willing to give him a year to get his body right. Anyone who is saying that Russell should get dropped is smoking crack. He was unlucky to get dropped in the first place - he offers us defensive pressure and really good tactical play in a team that has little of either. While I say that, I really think the win against Freo disguised some structural issues which do need addressed. Yarrin is a gun but probably needs to be managed through this year.

Just an asside, clubs pick teams and not players. Not every player is good going both ways and I doubt that Stevens was dropped for his defensive pressure - he got dropped for skill errors and not giving enough going forward. Stevens at his best gives us a few direct goals a game. He has not done that for a number of weeks and right now does not have the fitness to create goals and space. Austin goes out and maybe Hartlett or Scotland come in.

Banno is an option. Showed he can play last year and has had a good year at the ants this year. Carlton need defensive pressure and he adds this. Judd, Gibbs and to a lesser extent Murphy push harder forward than back and we need guys like Russell and Banno going back the other way

Houlihan is a beautiful finisher and can hit a target from anywhere. Sure you take the good with the bad but you don't get to choose the strenghts and weaknesses of your players. He is as frustrating as hell because you would love him to put his head over the ball but he can do things that other Carlton players can't do and hit a forward leading,

I think you are falling in this boat as well mate... Saying that Bentley should not be dropped is one of the most stupidest things i have read on this thread. What benefit does he bring to the team?

Is he a stopper? NO
Does he bring needed pace? NO
Does he do 1%ers? NO
Does he kick goals? NO
Does he use the ball well? NO
Does he make right choices? NO
Does he Improve our side? NO
Should he play another game for us? NO BLOODY WAY.

If we continue to play half decent 2's players we will never get anywhere. Im done with playing half arsed players. If Bentley continues to get a game, then clearly we are no where near where we thought we would be at the start of the year. Injuries aside (TEX, WARNOCK, WAITE) he does not fill a need. Surley our development programs are working as such that hacks like Bentley are not seen in a CARLTON gurnsey again. Sorry to vent my frustration on one player, but clearly he and as sad as it is FISHER and BANNISTER are no longer up to AFL standards, and if the CARLTON FOOTBALL CLUB are to get somewhere this year and beyond, we need to get rid of the dead wood and move on....

IF the MC keep selecting Bentley, then yes they should considering giving him more than one game to prove himself.
The MC have selected him twice and if they found reasons to select him in the first place, then give him an extended run to prove his worth/lack of worth.

Can you se Bentley being a part of our next premiership team?

F**K NO. Get rid of him & anyone else in that boat... Im sorry but thats the harsh reality

In Bower, Out Austin

Maybe replace Fisher with Stevens. Stevens always destroys Bleakmond, and the extra little incentive from his "VFL experience" could be the motivation he needs to do it again. Fisher's going to struggle to retain his spot in the starting 22 this year. Setanta is much more effective, and when Warnock returns, we'll see Kruezer take on Fisher's role, and probably do it a lot better. :)

Joseph dropped for one poor performance - ridiculous

That's ok - I don't think you realized you pulled out the shotgun and actually hit three
