Great win in the end. Some of those errors in the first half nearly cost me a couple of remote controls 😁
Last quarter was awesome. Too few and far between where we run over the top of teams and keep going. But bloody brilliant that we chose today to do it.
Loved Jack's game.
Give Walsh whatever he wants when negotiations begin for a contract extension.
Class act from Ruscoe with Eddie 👏

McGovern or Charlie would have made a huge difference.
Charlie I think... other teams are going to freak out with both Harry and Charlie in the same side.

You could argue Kennedy has had more impact in the last 5 weeks than Cripps has had for the whole season.... I just feel like we looked a lot more dynamic today in the middle.
That Kennedy burst out of the middle reminded me of a lot of Cripps breaks from the centre bounce... and has me wondering why we haven't seen a lot of them lately.

Geez that was embarrassing wasn't it? I wonder how many of them will step up and say they were wrong!
That was one of the most embarrassing first halves of football I have ever seen....it was shitfull!
As they say in the classics 'one swallow doesn't make a Summer!'
Collingwood were below is on the ladder and thats for a good reason.
They stopped in the last half which was very decent of them.
I loved the win but it doesn't wipe out 20 years of mediocrity and pain.
Some of the boys were fantastic in the end of the third and in the last and that is most satisfying.
But where was this effort and improved skill level in the first half and a bit?
We know that injuries have been horrible yadda yadda yadda and that we all await a new dawn next season.
But we have been here before year after year.
To repeat....one quarter and a bit of football against a bottom team don't do it for me.
North ain't playing that bad and they get three players back next week.
I want to see 3 or 4 quarters next week like the last today.
Then the next week.
And the next week.
And the next week.
You know what comes next.

If Cripps comes in next week, I think he needs to play most of the game as a forward.

Seeing the mix of Kennedy, Dow, Martin, Fisher, Walsh, Curnow, SPS in the centre square, when we got going, it looked unstoppable.

Give it another try again vs North.
I'd rather he stay out injured, play down back or rather than have Jack helping TDK in ruck, Crippa do that so Jack can be more forward, more often.
Also note Ed was not really in the centre square much today so they genuinely had attacking midfielders in there nearly all day and in the end it overpowered Pies on skill we had to call upon at various stages. With Crippa and Ed in there too much it has always felt like one hand tied behind our back as Ed mostly tagging and Crippa either through injury or positioned in wrong spot has rarely been positive attacking weapon there for some time. When you got attacking weapons in there, when you did win a centre bounce it far more damaging. With Dow, Fisher and SPS doing their fair share it meant Walsh was even more damaging on outside. Kennedy did the grunt work of the big bodied type and the balance was right in there. Best midfield setup we had in long time and it was virtually with half a ruck division for most of game and against either the best ruck in league or one of best two.

That was fantastic but for me it's the smaller things. Having an established big bodied mid laying tackles, getting clearances and actually putting the ball to teammates advantage, bringing them into the game all with minimal turnovers just adds so much stability to our midfield and allows players like Dow, SPS and even Fisher today to back themselves and play with that flair instead of being under so much pressure.

Matt Kennedy, I take back everything I said about you earlier in the year.

Guy deserves a new contract. Has been enormous since he’s come back in the team.

Couldn't have done it without ctacp!

We kicked 9 of the last 10 goals of the game, and ran all over them. Maybe Russell’s not as bad as some think.

Think I’ll watch the replay from the middle of the third quarter.:p

We rotated more through the middle too. People angry in game day thread Dow wasn’t on ball in 2nd quarter, but was back on ball in 3rd.

We did it 😂😂😂

these are his averages this year, it's not like he's having a bad year stats wise, it's because we as supporters hold him to such a high standard because he's been so good for a while now, no doubt he will get back to his best (2018) soon
It's not the stats but becoming too Cripps focused that's the issue. Has a huge presence onfield. Often gets the ball passed to him when he is under immense pressure. We were more unpredictable today

I can't decide if Williams is soft or hard.

Soft and exaggerating every little knock or he's actually copping massive knocks and playing through.

He is a hard nut when required- he and Martin are playing nowhere near 100% fit - I reckon both are running around at maybe 70% of their true levels.

I'm super chuffed for Dow today. I thought he had a break out game for us.
