• He was Hawthorn’s specialist goalkicking and development coach from January 2012 to November 2014. Hawthorn were elite kicks during this time and he’s credited as one of the reasons for that.

I’m not against others, but Yze’s assistant coaching career is quite decorated. Maybe he’d be a good fit for us. Also, maybe he can tell us how we can finally beat Melbourne.

Yeah, a coach can be a good tactician all they want, but if they don’t know how to manage or talk to players then they’re not a good fit. Haven’t heard much about Yze on that front, so I’m not sure

Captain of 3 premiership sides. Played in 4. Coached on the field in the latter part of his career at Hawthorn and then at Brisbane. Media savvy. Unbelievable understanding of the game (as can be seen by his insightful comments). Barracked for Richmond as a kid. Success follows him (like Dimma). Would command the respect of any playing group (very important during lean times).

Ask Sarri, Conte, and Tuchel who were sacked after trophy success within months if not weeks the meaning of failure. Buckley never won anything in 10 years, why on earth would he be considered as coach material now?

I think Hinkley. Port treat him woefully. Keep dangling his job but reality is he is an excellent coach of a small club. Surely the prospect of stability, a president that does not shoot their mouth off, the resources and profile of Richmond would be irresistible. Otherwise maybe Grigg. Typically don’t like the idea of a “favourite son” returning but all reports are he is a smart, motivated guy.
