Legend. Absolute legend. Been my favourite player ever since I started following cricket and been an absolute inspiration for that time.

Will have more to post later, but it's fitting in a way that his career will start and end at Perth.

Absolutely magnificent career, one of the all-time greats.

Perhaps should have pulled the plug a bit earlier, but kudos to him on doing what's best for the team.

Best since Don, a true great of the game. His 156 in the 05 ashes is the best knock I remember him playing. Amazing innings.

One of the all-time greats of Australian cricket. Thanks for all the good memories Punter. Good luck with whatever you decide to do after cricket.

Thank you on an enjoyable career.

The lack of runs when the team was on the slide will forever tarnish my memory of him but to suggest that he wasn't a great would be wrong.

Agree - the 156 in the drawn test in 05 has to go down as one of the all time great performances from an Australian bat. :thumbsu:

So good.

Great of the game, have been worried that his captaincy and last 2 years (as a whole) would tarnish his reputation, but even this early on that won't be the case.

Will be missed.

I wonder what his next step is, commentary, coaching etc.

Taking both his batting and fielding into account, he pips Warne as the greatest Australian cricketer I've ever seen. On of my favourites since his early years, it's going to be very strange going to the Boxing Day test and not seeing him out there. Kudos on the amazing career Punter!
