I've fixed DeGoey, although i recall with horror the 5 goals he kicked last year in that cold night in Perth when the Pies beat us soundly. I've put a couple of bucks on him kicking 3,4,5 and 6 goals. FWIW he's $151 for kicking 6, which against Geelong is frightfully good odds for an entirely plausible outcome. He's a very talented player who has been so underwhelming this season.

It will be a tough game, as the midfield without Duncan and Danger is a little compromised, and if Guthrie is out it would be as weak a midfield Geelong has put out for many a long year. A lot will rely on Selwood to produce a real captains game, although Pendles is older again and should be able to be contained by whoever Geelong get to shadow him. Hopefully Narkle builds on his great game last week, i think he can because he's just lacked confidence i feel. This game and a bit of a clear run of games might be just what he needs to break out. It would be nice for the pacey Clark to return as well, speed is never a bad thing in a night game in winter.

However i do think Geelong can still prevail, but it won't be a walk in the park at all. A tough game will ensure.

Collingwood will try to do to Geelong what they did to PA. They'll play a super defensive game and try to keep the Cats below 10 goals. It won't be a great game to watch like these games usually are, but the Cat's will prevail.
Not the way to play the Cats because we only need limited opportunities cause of our forward line.
If you want to beat us you gotta want to score.

Geelong will be chasing a fourth consecutive victory when it travels up the highway to take on Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday afternoon at 1.45pm.

The Cats are set to make at least one change with Mitch Duncan to miss with concussion.

Ahead of the Round 11 clash geelongcats.com.au takes a look at the players in contention for a recall against the Pies.

Max Holmes
The first-year midfielder is a strong chance of returning to the senior side after being the carryover emergency last weekend.
Holmes has played three AFL games in his rookie season after being taken with Geelong’s top selection in last year’s draft.

Charlie Constable
Was outstanding in Geelong’s VFL win against Coburg with a game-high 34 disposals, 11 clearances and eight score involvements.
Has now been named in the ‘Bankers’ best in three of the five VFL matches he has played and looks a likely type to bolster Geelong’s midfield against Collingwood.

Darcy Fort
Pushed his case for a senior recall with another dominant display in the VFL.
Had 24 disposals, eight marks and a team-high 11 score involvements to be named in Geelong’s best for the fourth consecutive week.

Rhys Stanley
Another ruckman who did he chances no harm of a senior recall with a solid performance in the VFL. Had 21 disposals (81%), nine marks and five clearances.
Was particularly dominant early, helping the Cats win nine of the first 10 clearances of the game.

Josh Jenkins
Moved to the top of the VFL’s goal kicking charts 22 majors for the season after six-goal haul against Coburg.

Jordan Clark
Did some nice things in the VFL and worked hard for the Cats with 20 disposals, nine tackles and six clearances.
Likely to be in the selection mix to replace Duncan this week.

Seems the bye is coming at the right time for us

It's all Steve Hocking's doing. He foresaw this happening and scheduled Geelong's bye at this time so we aren't affected by it. ;)

If there is any risk of Guthrie worsening his injury by playing, I would be cautious as with the bye to follow, he can have a good recovery period, as harder games follow.
If it’s only a minor sprain then there would be very, very little risk. It’s not like a hamstring where it could go again.

For some reason the Wobblers almost always seem to put up a good fight against us. It'd be good to crush whatever remaining finals hopes their more deluded supporters might entertain.

Grundy will dominate in the guts but the rest of their midfield is like a pair of old undies flapping in the wind.

Geelong by 35 points.

Why wouldn't the AFL reschedule it down here at Kardinia Park? No reason to be sending people up to Melbourne, someone get Hocking onto it.
Because it's Collingwood's home game and there's no return match later in the season which would make it easier to switch venues & home team

what if we promise them a final at the G if we get to play them?
