Not too well I would have thought.Who remembers David ‘Darkie‘ Harris.
Handy player.
Coached our reserves to 3 premierships
(How would that nickname go these days??)

Also kept Peter Hudson goalless in a SOO match which back then was a rare featNo spot for Gary Malarkey ? he would take Mays spot
Malarkeys duels with Michael Roach were legendary
Malarkey - torps from FB - out at Waverley late 70s against Haw - absolute bombs - about 70 metres
However to be fair and honest - same time period against Fitz at the Junction Oval - Malarkey kicking in from FB went for the big torp - went sideways - a right hand shank - straight to Max Richardson - who kicked it back over Malarkeys head for a goal - Cats got done by plenty that day
Except that Collingwood have a game scheduled for next week
I didn't put a lot of thought into that one.
Though Collingwood and Adelaide both share a bye in a few weeks so that could be moved.
I think fair chance this week's game could be in Adelaide, though I have no idea on how any of this is likely to play out to be honest.
Yep agree but the AFL can't stand not being on for a whole week its patheticThis situation is why if they are insistent on a mid-year bye I'd rather have one blanket bye round in the middle of the season - that way if we end up in this situation it would surely be easier to put the season on hold for a week, all teams have their bye now and then we return to playing a week later (fingers crossed)
Such a bye round would be perfect for using the broadcast slots to showcase the various state leagues around the country, garner them some more interest and support. Could do so much good for grass roots footy. But it's the AFL.Yep agree but the AFL can't stand not being on for a whole week its pathetic
Look he was exciting when he played - its just a pity he went to Ade - he is one player doesnt happen all the time ( after their career finished ) who would have been so much more fondly remembered as a Cats player - and he was a fan favourite - and he was exciting at times
But Ronnie is a bit of a forgotten Geelong player - because he ended his career in Adelaide which is a pity
I use to watch that Marngrook footy show when Ronnie and Derek Kickett were the regular panelists - and i can remember Ronnie saying more than once that when he was at Geel he use to live ( i suppose in a flat or Unit ) - and it was above the Red Rooster Chicken Take away - hah
He came from Geelong West in the VFA I think.Who remembers David ‘Darkie‘ Harris.

It would’ve be awesome if Ronny could’ve snuck into our golden era. Or at least have been around to mentor stevie j and some of the forwards.
Well what about even today ??- weve got Miers Dahlhouse and Close
Burns was a Weight for Age performer - the other 3 in comparison are Stony Creek maidens
Knows where the big sticks are that lad!I think the estimation of Miers' abilities by supporters would be greatly enhanced if he was played in the F50 and not way up the field purely because he can run.
It's a travesty we're not unleashing him around the goals more!

Can’t let this one slip. After the bye we have some tough games. 8-3 would be very nice. Kolo on de goey again? We couldn’t handle him last year... woods have the type of forward line we struggle with. Short, mobile and fast.
Could be a tough game for the cats...
not so concerned about the saint game. They were basically trying their hardest that first half especially. We basically broke them in the last and that's continued onto the bulldogs game.Ive got bad vibes about this game - mainly because of the injuries and because the Magpies have been a bit of a bogey team for Geel
Looking at Geelongs draw in the next month - away games games to Port and Bris and also a game against Foot - Geel just can not afford to drop this game against Coll -
Geel were great against Rich - however that StK performance worries me a bit - the Saints havent franked that form at all - and then a so so win against the Suns - now key injuries . Just hope the Cats get over the line this week
The Punt Road mob will be ropeable. What's that? Two home games played away from the MCG? How on Earth will they cope?

And Lynch out for medium term makes it that much more likely the Tigers miss the 8 altogether. Boy it would be great to see a whole season flushed down the shitter for them. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
