You’re melting and wanting the coach sacked because we lost a dead rubber to a side sitting 4th by 4 points in a game we dominated for large parts of the game?

Stringer’s decision making and goal kicking was poor in the last quarter. Plenty of opportunities wasted. Collingwood took their opportunities. They’ve done it 8 out of 9 times in games decided by less than 12 points. Not melt worthy.

Besides, this game means nothing for our season anyway.

Good signs. Great signs actually. A couple of missed set shots and the resukt is different, but our style is starting to show through. Excellent contested work starting to appear full ground. We've got a young side. Really intense, high pressure games like this will be invaluable for guys like Martin and Hobbs. Not unhappy at all.

Add Perkins, Parish, Redman, Cox.

Today's game was better for us than last week's bruise-free win over GC.
Good post. Just a campaigner of a way to lose. Please learn from this EFC!!!!!

I thought Langford was really poor in last. Had three occasions to go body on body in a marking contest and just didn’t have the same commitment that Guelfi did when he copped the hit to take the one hander.
He looked super slow in the first. Wondering if he was carrying an injury or had a virus. He's usually very strong in marking contests but looked a step off it for most of the game

I can only assume people focusing on Heppell kicking it to a 2 on 1 have not watched a game of modern football before today

it happens. all the time. Shiel did it near the end, kicking it to no-one. Merrett did it in the first quarter, kicking it straight to Moore. Unfortunately we have a holding the ball rule and a "kick must be 15 meters" rule, so sometimes you need to pump it down the ground as that's the least worst option. it's no big deal whatsoever.

You would have to consistently have the worst takes on this whole board. It is absolutely mind boggling that someone can attempt to defend that piece of play. I seriously wonder what goes on in your mind sometimes.

Snelling slipping under the radar here. One of Collingwood's best today
Agree to disagree. Felt like it was his first decent game since he's been back. Finally getting back to his defensive pressure best with a game high 8 tackles (stringer with 7 and Bianco with 6 were the closest). That kick inside 50 to Durham was precision.

Had a few clangers but played his role fairly well

It's a long kick down the line. It's absolutely not worth sweating about. There's so many other things (including from Heppell himself) that are worthy of attention. Shiel's one was arguably worse but it also ended up with an Essendon free-kick that should have won the game because of pot luck.

Jones didn’t even take the full 30 seconds.

Has to do better. Did * all the entire game and didnt do what he needed too.

Needs to do better
We were checking the time on the tv. He was walking back at about 25 and the umpire can be heard yelling 15 to go.

Continually "hiding" Brayden Ham as the medical sub is another stroke of genius. Yeah he's going to be delisted at the end of the year (maybe), so why waste someone's opportunity in the VFL?

Oh wait, now this spud has to play an entire half?

Rutten needs to,

  • Implement a proper defensive structure which stops the easy end to end transitions. It's way too consistent with us. We can't keep relying on kicking enough goals to win it - that doesn't hold up in finals.
  • Stop with the Ham experiment. ENOUGH ALREADY.
  • Send Heppell on his way with a proper farewell while we still can.
  • Acknowledge signs of a tide turning and be capable of executing other plans in the moment.
  • Drive home the importance of flooding the back in case of a miss at the pointy end of the match.
  • And stop being such a Mr Nice Guy apologist. FFS. It breeds loser culture.
