Could Bell do the job on Watson, He will rest forward a bit and is dangerous up there with his body work and will hit the scoreboard.

I heard somewhere that Bell has a huge motor and is 95 - 97 kg's and would be better suited in the defensive 50 match up on Watson.

Bell recently suggested that he likes doing jobs on key players, particularly when they are forwards.

Bit pf a task but I wouldn't like to see Carrazzo trying to handle Watson when he rests forward as he doesn't have the size and would take away from our midfield stoppage work.

One thing in our favour is our fitness.. with wet-conditions in Melbourne continuing the ground will be heavy and Essendon at present can't run out games and now bringing in some underdone players (zaharakis surely will be the sub??). Judd is fresh and plays the wet beautifully as does Mclean, Scotland, Carrots and Murphy! This is a game whereby if our midfield keeps grinding and Eddie and Garlett can be damaging we'll win.
I have doubts even if he does play he will have much of an impact, Also have doubts that Stanton will play as I think he has only missed 2 weeks with a hamstring IINM.

Even if they do play the wet conditions will see a lot of collisions in packs and at loose balls so I wouldn't want to be diving into those with a dodgy quad or hamstring!

Revenge of the Carrazzo !!!!!

Sounds like Jimmy needs a tissue
Boo-f****** whoo Jimmy

How about you concentrate on your own mob and make sure you listen to everything Bomber has to say to you pre-game.
I wonder when the club will let you take the L Plates off?

who do people think will start as sub?

with a lot of top line midfielders in the only one I can pick is Bell purely on an experience pecking order.

other candidates and brock (bad omen:)) and curnow who might be given a run with role.

our defense is paper thin as it is so I cant see touhy or duigan getting the gig.

Dude you quote yourself?

Ok I'll bite, I think Jobe would be too big a task for Curnow, and Carrots has the ability to shut Jobe out and still get a lot of the ball himself and Stanton is under done so I'm pretty sure Curnow can shit him out.

As for Curnow on the outside, well it must be our job to back him up because I'm not confident in his decision making ability at all.

Wow, at some of the posts in here. Call us snipers all you like but I don't think you'll find an Essendon supporter 'hoping' we deliberately injure another player. I disagree, as will all Essendon fans, but you can have a right to be pissed at Lonergan. Can't fathom some of the comments about hoping Watson gets deliberately injured though.

As for this comment, "Boo-f****** whoo Jimmy". Hird was asked whether he thinks you guys will come out with a physical approach in mind, Hird said "We're going to play our game, but if they want to start the fireworks then we'll go down that path. We've got some strong lads, and if you want to go after Lonergan, good luck."
Failing to see what he is possibly crying about there. He's saying we won't do anything, but if you wanna start it, we'll damn sure join in.

Off that, no chance am I wishing you good luck, no way could I do it, and I don't want you guys wishing us luck either. Its a rivalry for a reason. Let's just hope for another epic, and hopefully close, battle. :thumbsu:

I hope for a great contest also, but we may find it to be quite a tough affair tomorrow.
I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Yeah, it's obviously a smaller stage than we both hope, but this is now 2 years in a row that we've played each other late in the season (Elimination final last year) with massive stakes, everything on the line. Let's just hope we actually turn up this time to make it a game to remember.

No, it's actually a huge stage tomorrow for both teams.

Carlton was labelled soft after our last appearance and the wounds haven't healed yet.
It's also a huge game for Ratten considering all that he has gone through this week (and many weeks prior)

It's also a huge game because the loss here is a goodbye to finals.
Basically, it's do or die. It's big.

The problem with Essendon muppets is they always think their opinion needs to be heard in other areas even when they're wrong.

Hird is a big sook. Always has been. Essendon are the king of sooks.

Was at the game last week as I took a North friend to see his side play the muppets and the sooking from them was at the hysterical point. I've never seen another side have so many.

I assume this will be met with a "I couldn't give a shit" typical response, but read my thoughts on Essendon (post 114) and then see if you have the same answer: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/most-hated-to-least-hated-clubs-in-victoria.966725/page-5

Anyway, apologies for attempting to engage in some sort of discussion here in what is a big game between 2 big rivals. I was warned by our posters that we're basically not allowed to/there's no point, but I took the risk anyway. My bad.

Don't be silly Casey.
You're more than welcome here and if cards are to be handed out it won't be to posters willing to engage in reasonable discussion.

We are a mixed bag and whether you will find intelligence here is always random. The warning from your posters is absolute rubbish - I don't think you would find a board that tolerates the opposition more than ours. Our mods used to create a 'Go for it' thread for some intense pre-match rivalry - I think we are missing it as this pre-view thread has gone a bit tribal

:D - nothing wrong with a bit of non personal venom to the hated opposition. :)

I despise Essendon above all others. Even above Collingwood. I can't change that. It's programmed into me from a very young age. :)

I despise the idiot who used a stanley knife to slash the face of a young stranger who he was chatting with while taking a piss in a city club a couple of weeks back. I cannot think of any other strangers I have despised recently

Edit - Sorry Aph I did not see your apt message

Honestly...

This game is all I can think about at the moment... Its a ritual for me and around 5-6 close mates (mix of carl and ess supporters) that we go to every carl v ess game and the banter between us for 2-3 days beforehand is ridiculous... There is no other game I love going to than against the scum, and my god, I hope that we hand it to them tomorrow...

Lets just hope that there are no more injuries and its a CLEAN but hard fought contest for 3 qtrs, then for Carlton to steamroll them in the last to win by 45+ points.... Normally I would love a 1 point win against these guys, but this time of the yr with our %, we need a good win to keep the form up...
