Thursday night I Melbourne doesn’t work. Too hard with people getting home late with work and school the next day. Only saving grace next week is it is school holidays.
they always shaft us with it

yeah-nah

bet KMAC didn’t like the “non umpiring‘when he was smacked on the jaw right in front of the maggot and wasnt paid a free….yet McCarthy will likely be cited and given 1 week

just umpire according to the rules…
Bears we’re having a shot on goal. No way the umpire was going to turn it over then. Might have at any other position on the field though.

You from Geelong
In the process of moving to Ballarat.
Regardless, how long does it take to get to the outer suburbs after the game finishes?
1 to 1 1/2 hours by the time you get out of the car park or on a train?
I know they start a bit earlier on Thursday nights, but that’s still 10:30 or later, so a lot of people will just stay home or at least leave the family at home, so crowds will be well down.

I think most supporters would admit they had the game against the Bears down as a loss. I felt the guys would be flat on the basis of the bye factor which the stats have shown is undeniable.
The preceding game as we all know was a high for all players, Cotch's 300th, he plays out of his skin, great atmosphere, magic night for a club legend. The let down after this had to be a factor, especially then playing iinterstate. To then lose Dusty the day prior was really the final piece of the script for the way things played out.

The Bears owed us a couple of beatings so not surprised they were fully motivated in comparison and guess that they had an inkling we were ready for the taking and credit to them especially their midfield, they were clinical with their execution and made us look a bottom 8 team.

It's now time we need to start getting some games into these kids to see what they can do in readiness for 2024.

Is mini me coaching for the job or what’s best for the club?

wish they would just stop suspending for this weak s**t altogether

have scaling fines for all the soft stuff and only suspend for 4 weekers and higher

Agree on the soft stuff but we have all played footy and you can't just punch someone in the face, it's not the 1970s. Just play hard tough footy

Neither. He won't get the job and keeping out of form experienced players in the side at the expense of getting games into young players is hurting the club.

Lose-lose.

Would hope the coach would follow a football department strategy rather than looking for personal gain. Obviously he doesn't want to look like a complete fail in the position but also believe he would have the backing of the club to bring in these kids when the time is right with the understanding it will affect results at least in the shorter term.

The club has always spoken about the importance of role players, I think in this instance mini me has to play a coaching role determined by the club the minute Hardwick walked out the door. I also assume this would be with the understanding of all at the club that at this time of transition it's not all about results but other KPIs that would be known to those involved.

I guess whilst there is some glimmer of hope of finals the approach may be tweaked here and there but ultimately its a longer term strategy to place the club back into premiership contention as quickly as possible. In the meantime I am sure mini me is being measured by the KPI's that the other potential coaching candidates will be measured by as well, apples with apples.

Anyone that saw the ressies today, Junior doing what he does best chasing, tackling, pressuring. laid 8 tackles. Our entire 7 forwards last night laid 3 tackles combined, 5 of them had 0. Wonder why the ball was just waltzing out. Last week v saints, rioli closed the space quickly and they rushed their kicks and we got it back repeat entries.

One of Miller, Ryan need to go out, and no point saying Jack as he'll stay in. Graham has more average games than good, He definitely needs a spell in the ressies.

MRJ had 9 touches and not a huge impact. He butchered a few of those 9 pretty badly too. Yes he harasses well but he Needs to be doing more for a senior gig in my opinion.

Not a huge impact well let's just keep the same setup as last night. It was putrid, with zero pressure. MRJ did better than 5 of them last night. Cumbers and Clarke were the best of a bad lot and they were at least showing something. 3 tackles between 7 forwards. We need pressure forwards, who hunt and close space and MRJ is that person.

Cumberland 7 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal
Jack 6 disposals, 1 mark 0 scoreboard
Ryan 5 disposals, 2 marks 0 scoreboard
Miller 4 disposals, 3 marks 0 scoreboard
Pickett 9 disposals, 1 mark 0 scoreboard
Jack Graham 11 disposals, 2 tackles, and 1 point.

It was a bad night.

The same players have been pretty good for the month before. For the most part, we should back them in to redeem themselves. There will be two maybe three changes.

MRJ is struggling to get a kick at reserves level. There’s half a dozen that should be called up before him.

Still fuming he was dropped. All this was so obvious as the Saints win was so dominant. I wanted to go faster against Brisbane, but they went slower. It was hopefully a learning process for minibus where he needed to go two step backwards in order to move three forward. Our percentage hit suggests otherwise now bc of the draw last night.

I didn't we always play well against them. But when I saw Prestia dusty the forward line and then lose Short early we had no chance. Everyone saying to play some of the seconds we would have had the west coast game score of last week. The ones playing now are in and out of the game for long periods. Whatever happens, the end of the season will be a big reassessment.

Of course, no free kick though :$

Players from other clubs would have milked this…for example Dangerflop

rolled around on the ground…calling for a stretcher or even a priest

would have been free….50m….and a report

instead tough as nuts KMac literally “copped it on the chin’

I agree …..but that just highlights how unprofessional afl has become
(I mean we can’t even get proper cameras to check if the ball hits the post…goes over it…elim final 2022)

if it’s a free…pay it regardless where the infringement occurs
