Teams figured how to stop us scoring. Flood the back. We haven’t got a plan b
Don't know about that. GWS set up as usual. We set up as usual. i.e. spare player in defence. Their midfield dominated as expected. Watching Greene kick one from outside 50 then watch JR struggle with kicking again. Lynch has the long leg, let him play up the ground. JR around goals.

Our system held up? WTF? Dimma's reading some voodoo data while we're all looking at the scoreboard.
I agree with Dimma, our intensity was there all game, just need to fix the goal kicking.

Teams always have a huge crack when they play the team they lost the premiership too, they did not kill us either and we have a ton out,we have unearthed two more great players in Pickett and Aarts who will get better as time goes on.

Pickett, how good was he in the granny, first senior game of AFL footy and delivered.

Still plenty of upside for our team this year, exciting to watch the new cubs.

JUST need to fix goal kicking? 6 goals ain't going to win any games of footy. Lynch has the yips. JR's lost 10m in his kicking. Dusty 1 & 1. Doesn't know whether to kick around the body or not. Aarts 2 goals 5 last week. Chol is the only one who can kick. Or give it Balta and Short from 50m and let them have a ping.
I was pleased with the overall margin the way the game was played.

Easton Wood to stand in front of Jack and Lynch and have 10 intercept marks like Haynes did last night .
Can we please get a forward to lead up at the ball FFS .
Daniels to have 25 possessions running out of the backline .
Jack McCrae on the wing ,get on him for most possessions .
This game is our season defining game ,lose this and finals are gone .

Going to get smashed otherwise. GWS aren't even playing good football and won comfortably.
Hashtag was definately out for our game,Doggies will have theirs out next week.

Our forwards need better delivery tora,we have been bombing it a bit,I think GWS played on at all costs especially that first quarter, they beat us with pace.

That first half is really where we lost the game,Giants ran their little leggies off first quarter to put on a sizable lead early and we played catch up but still the second quarter we absolutely smashed them with inside 50’s but could reward that movement,Giants then went up the other end.

Still fuming over Chol’s non mark decision,O’ Gorman was in the perfect spot but didn’t call it,he knew it was a mark, did you see the look on his face when he called “play on”,unbelievable.

AFL rushed him in because they wanted the Giants to win.

Richmond aint me though, they will not blame umpires and fair play to em,no use replaying crap in the head that is gone now.

I am a one eyed Tiger so maybe my points are null and void, sigh.

Onto next week, let’s get excited, not dwell on negatives and look forward to the challenge.

Our team is still very positive, the Richmond system is there,I believe we will win next week.

Look at the years we won flags,in 2017 we had 4 crushing losses in a row,Giants loss up there with a better team in than this year’s as far as injuries are concerned.

If this was a normal season,we’d be near top for sure.

Lots of distractions due to covid but then on the flip side, some positives,Eggy,Aarts,Chol,Pickett and Bolton growing another notch in stature.

Think you are throwing the baby out with the bath water. If we converted 30% of our behinds we would of ended up kicking 10.10 last night. The goal kicking was a huge issue as was dumping the ball on the heads of Lynch and Jack.

To be honest though, they were playing at close to full strength and we were missing about 5 of our best 22, most of whom were in the top 10 of our Bnf last year. The fact that we almost won against them with most of our VFL team should really embarass the small small squeak from the west of the town. Pretty sure it is time for their board to sack the coach.

Our system in not working as it should. Why the 20m kick to the back pocket to a man that 90% of the time stops and chips it to another player 20m away or bangs it down the line to a boundary throw in around the wing at best. It has been happening all season (not the first time I have whinged about it). We love it when sides do that to use. Locks it in to the forward half so easily. Even though we have been winning using that formula, we have struggled to kick a decent score all season. No coincidence that Lynch and Jack can't get a look in.

When was the last time we played on from a point, and with Short usually doing the kicking roosting it to a more attacking part of the ground (not the boundary line). Let Balta kick it even further, well what do you know we are already past the middle of the ground. It would suit our forward press style much more than the Hawthorn or Collingwood work it around with precision kicking. What happened to the last few years of forward thinking football. Has Hardwick been delving back on his game plan book again.

And while I'm at it. Poor Lynch and Jack having to compete with a player parked deep permanently 10m in front of them all game. Sides are doing it because it is working. Would much rather see someone like Markov match up on that player and actually lead him away from the key forwards. If he doesn't go with Markov then he is free and not a bad mark on the lead and a very accurate kick. At worst he becomes a player that we use defensively, with his speed he would close down space really quickly, a bit like Chol did at times last night. Given that Aarts and Higgins are not not quick, and with Bolton gone up the ground, Rioli labouring and Castagna up the ground, we have no forward pressure with speed.

You’d think we got absolutely slaughtered if you only read this thread. Should have put them away in the 2nd but didn’t. Oh well, it is what it is. We’ll bounce back.

Delivery was not the issue, Bolton & Pickett both had running shots for goal. Comfortably within distance. Kicked 4 points. Lynch, easily within range: points. Ditto Dusty. Now back in the day when our fwd pressure was a thing, kicking points is a bonus. Not now. Riewoldt is ecstatic he gets a cheap one out the back.

Just bring in stack for Rioli! I can’t watch another game with him jogging around like he’s a having a kick with his mates.

Jack definately struggling a bit atm but he always does the team things, our system being worked out,I thought when the ball went on the ground in the forward line,we didn’t use it as well as usual, not the Richmond way,Giants swarmed on us in numbers.

We did miss alot of shots for goal as well,a few risky bombs at goal that should have been made with some composure.

Dogs will come at us,always do,one of my hashtag teams.

Spot on👍
We've gone back to chipping the ball around instead of getting it forward quickly by foot or hand. It's allowing the oppo spare to get back into our F50 or where the next long kick is going to land, if that makes sense.
Please Dimma, go back to that manic play on forward handball game style, not many sides can defend it and we are/were damn good at it

weve 7 guns out and we kicked 6 goals 14 behinds lol

100% should have won by 30+
How do those 7 guns affect the goal kicking accuracy?
Chol is the only player who looks like being able to kick straight. Park him in Lynch's spot, JR up the ground.
