The WC hoodoo is broken, even though it took generational badness to do it. Ken isn't losing. I don't think he loses games like this anymore, against truly bad teams. Last one I recall was Norf in 2019. Last one before that was Carlton in 2016?

Except the showdowns, of course.

Freo in Perth in 2018.

We were 11-4 heading into that game.

Us by 5 goals, wankfest over harley reid. Something ports judge us in 24 weeks when we lose the prelim
Ch 9 this morning.
“hey Jimmy Bartel, Port Adelaide v West Coast today”
Jimmy “Thanks, Harley Reid playing, 30 days in a row back page “

I’m going to try and not meltdown over the coach’s decisions or presser’s this season.

They players wanted him, so the onus is on them.

Though as we’ve witnessed over the last decade shyte teams always seem to bring us down to their level.

So no spoiler.
I got my BP meds are on the ready, as I know how the movie usally ends.

It’ll be Ports in a scrap by 3 to 4 goals & a bit.

Amazingly sad how many on here have to continually carry on about our coach who none of us like anyway instead of just looking forward to the first game of the season.
Yes, how dare we struggle to look forward to anything when it is all overseen by a coterie of useless men.

I'm happy footy is back but let's be honest, today is just us going through the motions. Theres not much we gain out of today at all. Win by any margin and it doesn't prove anything to outsiders or anyone within the club. WC pull off a miracle win and we won't sack him, so all we do is end up embarrassed and continuing our rut.

On this basis I think it is totally understandable that the majority aren't that excited about today, but instead are focused on the long term battle our club faces in its stagnant, mediocrity accepting malaise.

Honestly I reckon if we don't win by 80+ I wouldn't even walk out as ambivalent as I am about us right now.

Agree with what you're saying but it's just very boring that EVERY thread has the same hinkley stuff. some of us just want to look forward to our team playing despite the obvious short comings.

The toast winning this one with Reid getting 30+ disp would be the funniest thing on a football field since Ben Keays shit himself.

We will win by 5 goals, give or take a couple.

Think Hinkley has only lost two Rd 1 games and both have been on the road, Brisbane last year and Ross' revenge game at Subi in 2015.

Yeah because there us absolutely no link between the two...

How hard is it to understand why members might be less excited about minor round wins?
