A lot to like there, especially Lippa and our small forwards.

Grundy had a tough game, hope he can run into more form.

Go Pies!

I think the negativity toward Grundy is a little over the top. If that’s his worst game for the year he’ll be going okay. Had something like 17 disposals, a game high 37 hit outs, 5 clearances, and 5 tackles. There should be some very embarrassed posters given some of the hyperbole posted in the game day thread. Ditto Sidey in the pregame build up.

Just wait til they sign him to 4 x 600k and within 12 -18 months he stuffs up again

Sponsors, PR and common sense will determine his then exit… and the pies will be in a beams like contact impasse situation afterwards
Well I’m hoping people don’t steal his drinks and he doesn’t wear a bathrobe to a party and we should be good then. Sounds like a bargain 👌

So good to register a win, a huge confidence booster for the side. Was impressed at how we were challenged, regrouped and took it back from them. That is golden.

A lot of guys did their jobs. Not too many passengers, though definitely room for improvement by bringing in some alternative personnel.

Things of note

De Goey had one of those big impact games we all hoped to see.

N Daicos. I am making belly button lint sculptures of N Daicos Round 1 Rising Star as we speak. That was so composed for a first gamer.

Sidey these days is most useful slinking forward where his natural forward instincts come into play.

I wasnt sure Minivan and McCreery could both be in the team but I am turning round on that.

Checkers seemed to have his mojo back. And is it coincidence, or does he play better when Cox is in? Just seems to get freer when the big Yank is up there.

Lipinski is a sexy sexy possession winning beast. Dead sexy.

I just love Henry's work. He knows how to get dangerous.

Defensive organisation held up pretty well. Madge was Madge but he wasn't terrible. God we missed Howe.

On the more to work on list, Bianco isn't the answer at least where he is being played. T Brown had lower TOG numbers than Sier used to put out. Looking at the likes of McCrae, Poulter, Harrison and Krueger if available next week but I really dont think Brown and Bianco can be there.

Get the lid off ladies and gents, we should be at least 3-1 if we play with that level of pressure and attacking ethos.

But seriously, that was a nice game to watch, even if we lose games playing that style it will be 100x easier to take than the dour games of the last couple of years.

BLOODY BRILLIANT WIN!

We were adventurous and fun to watch again - for the first time in years.

NDaicos was magnificent and Lipinski was every bit as good. He’s the Treloar replacement we desperately needed.

Jordy was great and we’ve finally found a pair of clever, dangerous small pressure forwards in McCreery and Ginnivan. Pick them every week, please. Quaynor is an unsung hero.

Madgen and Cox were pretty terrible and T Brown invisible. Doubt any of them will be in the team in a month’s time.

Brown only played just over 50% game time. Thought he was good given the limited opportunity.

I might have been a little bit negative about Lippa in the pre-season.

What a beautiful start to the season. Loved what l saw in terms of our game plan, and ball movement. We were so exciting in the first 15 mins of that 3rd quarter especially.
Well done to Lippa, great debut. He just wins the ball, and is clean with hands. Great addition to our midfield. The Daicos boys were very good. What a debut from N Daicos, not bad gathering 27 disposals in your first game of AFL footy. JDG, showed why he can be one of the best in this competition. I thought the balance of him mid / fwd was perfect tonight. Good to hear that he is also committed to the club, and will re-sign. Great to have a fit Howe and Moore in defence, just makes us so much better, along with Quaynor, who looks set for a big year. I thought the experience of Adams, Pendles and Sidey who all stood up, was pivotal tonight...

I din't think i was being that negative. He was good at times, but there were other moments when he couldn't really impact in the way he may have liked. A bit rusty but fine. That is just my opinion; hope that is ok.

When Gil McLachlan called the new scoreboards sexy he must have known Lipinski was going to get a heap of the ball.
