The inside 50 kick is the most important kick in the game. I’ve a terrible feeling we’re going to see plenty of ineffective I50s for us that result in turnovers and rebound goals. That’s the way I see it as well
No real point tagging the inside bull because they are going to be going in and under either way and those aren’t the guys who genuinely kill you on the outside spread who can damage you with the inside 50 kicks
As you mentioned Walsh, Daicos and even Bolton for us previously would be a prime example
7/10 times if those guys have free reign and some space to deliver inside 50 they either will have a ping themselves or set up a very good scoring opportunity for the opponent
What quick ball movement game plan they "keep talking about"? Do you have any links or hints as to where I can listen to this being talked about by Yze or someone prominent. I havn't been paying much attention.signs of this quick ball movement game plan they keep talking about
Hopefully having Lynch as that centrepiece back helpsThe inside 50 kick is the most important kick in the game. I’ve a terrible feeling we’re going to see plenty of ineffective I50s for us that result in turnovers and rebound goals.
Probably will kick 4sos jr returns
backmanProbably will kick 4
the G's going to bounce when he kicks that first..Expect Lalor to play deep forward. Can see the unit kicking a few.
ohbackman
Good post but I disagree with the part about young players not benefiting from playing games. Rule of rhumb generally is most youngsters outside the elite take 40 games or so before they start feeling comfortable at the level.Giving youngsters 20 games won’t automatically fast track development. This was the critical mistake made by Melbourne when they cut their list too deep in favour of youth.
Look at Dow, absolutely nothing gained from 17 games last year. Brown, Banks and Sonsie all played 2/3s a season last year and I am yet to see any notable improvement.
McIntosh will be one of only 8 players with over 100 games experience in our team on Thursday (assuming they all play). There will be 15 other young/inexperienced players running around with only Ross and Mansell having over 50 games experience.
The reality for any player that would be ousting McIntosh is that if they were good enough they would already be in the team and wouldn’t need the charity selection. Take Seth Campbell for example, how many clubs are picking him with 11 disposals, half a goal and 2 tackles a game. He’s currently a walk up start for us but in reality he’s a young fringe player at most clubs and probably doesn’t play at all for most top 8 teams.
I’m not expecting McIntosh to play all year but while we are short HRS, Hotton, Smillie, Clarke and Prestia, I can’t see a major issue.
The way he presents he just looks like one of those old school short arsed full forwards. all power.Expect Lalor to play deep forward. Can see the unit kicking a few.

Very Average footballersos jr returns
Plenty!Wonder how many throws Cripps will get away with tomorrow night?![]()
Remember there was a game against West coast and they kept pinging us for 15 metre kicks and then they just forgot about it for the rest of the round?Plenty!
With AFL publicly focussing on the 15 meter kicks and holding the ball, Crippa and his mates will be chucking the ball more than Harry Grant and Jahrome Hughes did on Sunday.
preparing the whinge as we speakNot long till we melt
Simply play him in the middle - that was the position he was recruited for !We need players in our midfield who can connect with the forwards..Sonsie does this better than all excluding Brown
It is time to get him on ball with the bigger bodies of hopper and Taranto and see what he has to offer
Playing him as a permanent half forward is not helping him or the team
Last year when he went back to the VFL he played onball and alongside McAuliffe was very good then he gets promoted back to the seniors and gets plonked on a flank..can’t understand why particularly when our disposal into the forwards is so bad
Think you'll find most clubs had the same problem against WC.Remember there was a game against West coast and they kept pinging us for 15 metre kicks and then they just forgot about it for the rest of the round?
