I'm gonna say it, anyone talking about Chaplin is an idiot. We recruited Knights and Maric from Adelaide, they got Tambling and Graham from us, Chaplin came from Port Adelaide. If you're going to argue the merits of which team picked up better players at least make it between the same clubs.

Adelaide would love a player like Knights on their team this year (ignoring injury).

To simplify;
Knights + Maric > Tambling + Graham
Maric and Knights have been good pick ups for you but no we wouldn't love Knights. He was likely to be delisted last year if you didn't pick him up.

A lot of misguided confidence around here. Those odds are a joke.

Dangerfield, Thompson, Sloane match Deledio, Martin, Cotchin and we don't have a Richard Douglas equivalent.

However, we have the better talls right now with Adelaide's injuries.

Nah. He's more of a Tuck type. Get a truck load of it and chuck it on the boot. Their midfield is quite good though overall. A fair few are out of form, and their forward line doesn't pose too many problems for us. I'd have worried about Porplyzia but he's been out of form. There tall backs are solid though and may give us a few headaches. We need our midfield to push forward and score and Vickery to get a hold of Rutten. I think Talia can blanket Riewoldt.

He was in really good form before he got injured. How many of your forwards are in form? If you hadn't delisted him he'd be getting a game if fit and doing well for you.

Danger, Thompson and Sloane are great players but we match them easily with Cotchin, Lids and Martin. We don't have a match for Douglas but who do they have in their second tier to match our Conca, Ellis, Vlastuin, Edwards, Foley, Grigg and Jackson? Van Berlo, Crouch...?

Having said that if we take them lightly we'll get smacked.

He's an average defender that was woeful before leaving Port. Has improved in a better environment surrounded by better players and coaches, but wouldn't say he's light years ahead of Graham or anything.

You have got be joking. Graham is a cardboard cut out ruckman and looks like those air man at car yards, cos he has that much presence in a game.

Will depend on selection but probably Douglas, Vince, Van Berlo, Lyons, Crouch, Mackay and possibly Wright.

Conca? Edwards? Ellis? Vlastuin? Foley? Even white on last weeks form?
Agree that it will be a closer game than what many are predicting, however I think most would agree our midfield is a tier above adelaide's at this point in time.

Hey hey hey! When has Graham ever played with as much energy as those wacky inflatable arm flailing tube men put into their jobs every day? I think you're being very harsh on those guys

They may all be solid players but none have be close to Douglas's consistent form this year.

Now I know as to why there is all of this negativity and resentment towards Troy Chaplin from the Cow supporters!!!

Based on previous Showdown clashes (below), where he played against one of Tippett or Walker, Chappy should have a picnic on Saturday.

R15 2012
Adelaide 116 d Port 58
Chappy 15k 7hb 10m (114 Supercoach Points)

R5 2012
Adelaide 110 d Port 91
Chappy 9k 16hb 11m (121 Supercoach Points)

R19 2011
Adelaide 111 d Port 79
Chappy 5k hb 5m (70 Supercoach Points)

R4 2011
Port 98 d Adelaide 66
Chappy 16k 15hb 11m (139 Supercoach Points)

R17 2010
Port 88 d Adelaide 69
Chappy 18k 8hb 11m (150 Supercoach Points)

R6 2010
Port 97 d Adel 74
Chappy 15k 3hb 10m (99 Supercoach Points)

I don't boo Tambling, or bronx jeer I just look at him & cry because of the pain we all felt when we realised (some were in denial for quite some time) that we had recruited an almighty lemon.

Edwards would be pretty close imo
Don't think so mate. Edwards has been solid tho.

What is it with you facination with Supercoach and dream team points to determine how well they played? For example last year when Chaplin stood Tex, Tex kicked 6 goals and was arguably best on ground. But Chaplin got 121 supercoach points so he played well??

Just pointing out the facts Butt 92, that Chaplin is better than what you Cow supporters think he is!
Asa for your comment on Tex's 6 majors against Port, some would argue the point that he was BOG.
The stats don't lie and I may as well throw in his recent club champion award last season.
So a dud he aint and he will demolish one of Jenkins, McKernan or Lynch.
