Richard Tambling and Angus Graham :D :D

lol im not disagreeing tambling and graham are a joke, you guys sold the dummy to us perfectly with those trades:( Can you believe tambling is on close to a million for three years? In his last year of that contract now

however chaplin is still an ordinary player, and Jenkins and Lynch have much more potential. We wouldnt trade either of them for Chaplin.

Did he sign that contract with you or us though? :p

Part of me died when we recruited Graham.

Not even that he's a bad player per se (there are plenty of spuddy ruckmen around the league - Rhett Biglands played over 100 games for us) but just the fact that we would actually target him. He was on our hit list. Sometimes you end up with a player like Graham on your list when a draft pick doesn't quite work out. But we actively sought to get him into our club.

Made me think that the stuff we always hear about it being hard to recruit interstate players and people not wanting to come to Adelaide looks like a real factor. Makes us look like an also-ran of the competition. He's not even first ruck at Sturt at the moment (stringbean Angus Kurtze has got him covered). Just a waste of a list spot.

And he's on a two year deal

Can I borrow your manure truck?

What do you mean? Angus was willing to go. :D It's so sad that he was our first ruck pre-Maric. No wonder we were shit. How long till he's in Sturt's reserves?

He is miles better than Angus Graham.

Angus Graham is probably the worst AFL footballer I have ever seen. Never have I watched a bloke so big be so afraid of his own shadow and an absolute soft c*ck on the ground.

The final straw for me was the day he kept avoiding a ruck contest v the bulldogs against an undersized Ben Hudson who got 3 brownlow votes I think and towelled him.

Chaplin has come to our club and improved our back line and I couldn't care less to what you saw at Port as it is completely irrelevant. Different role...different game plan.

eurgh, I remember that game. Didn't look at the ball once when it was in the air, just watched hudson with this frightened look on his face. It was disgraceful

Hey we have a great small forward tackles hard kicks goals how about your first rounder for Robbie :D

With the weather the way it is, tipping we will put them away by around 12 goals or so. They wont get more than 4 or 5 and I can envisage a scoreline that looks lopsided..eg. us 13.14 them 3.8 ;)

He's actually been quite good for us this year.
He'll never have the talent to play up forward. You guys compared him to Jenkins and Lynch, who i would take in a heartbeat over chaplin. Cant believe you guys gave him a four year deal, you should have gone after a better backmen if you were offering that much.

Lets just hope the rain stays away on saturday, both teams play a fast brand of footy, so will be a good game to watch if the weather holds up. What do you guys think the crowd will be like? above 35000?

He's an average defender that was woeful before leaving Port. Has improved in a better environment surrounded by better players and coaches, but wouldn't say he's light years ahead of Graham or anything.

Mate this is verging on a troll. Have you seen ANY of of our games this year? He has been very solid in nearly every game he has played. Richmond supporters are rapt with him right now. Port DID NOT want to get rid of him. Get your facts right kid.

Angus Graham is potentially the biggest spud we have ever had on our list (this speaks volumes if you go through our lists between 1982 - today) Richmond supporters Australia wide were throwing parties when he was axed. We recruited a 31 year old as back-up - Angus was just 25. Please do not come onto this board and make a fool of yourself.

This is a Richmond game mate. 40k plus at least.

This board was hilarious when that trade went through. But really when you consider Chaplin/Graham:

Chaplin: Has played every game when fit, and has performed admirably in all of them. Port didn't want to lose him. His (alleged) disposal problems and degenerative knee problems began to surface on the Port Board roughly an hour after he was on his way to Tigerland. He was great against the Bombers, that would have been a far bigger margin without him. My thoughts during that game: "thank fck we have chaplin back there...what a great pickup".

Graham: Somewhere between 2nd string and 3rd string ruck at the moment. When RFC played the Suns last year, my thoughts during that game: "Thank fck we have Maric and Vickery...I wonder how Browne and Derickx are tracking...I wonder if McGuane, Griffiths can play ruck...I wonder if we could rookie Brendon Lade...maybe we could just play with no ruckman".

Pretty sure he won their b and f a few seasons ago.... probably not having his best ever season. Did you mean he is playing well?

Yes, along with Dangerfield, Richard Douglas has been in very good form for the first half of the season. You only need to look at player ratings through various media outlets to confirm his output to date!

He's actually been quite good for us this year.
Some people just develop a hate for a player and even when they play well will refuse to acknowledge it. He's actually been outstanding for us in some games this season.

And is it just me, or is the fact that Chaplin's old club used to be Port Adelaide contributing here? The Crows-Port rivalry (and living in Adelaide) seems to do a good job at clouding logical thought. Not that we need affirmation from other clubs, but I didn't hear any other expression of Chap being a bad move prior to now (other from the Port supporters obviously).

And seriously, Angus Graham is the worst almost 50-gam player I have seen pull on the Richmond colours - possibly even the worst in the AFL. Pea heart, pea brain and lazy. And I'm not exaggerating - he was my number one priority for delisting/trading.

You've shot yourself in the foot with the most ridiculous comments I've read for a long time!
Don't embarrass yourself anymore by posting idiocrasies on our board!!!

He was also a valuable contributor for some of the Power's triumphs in previous Showdowns.
Geez I really hope he lines up on Jenkins and keeps him goalless for the entire game?

Who cares if he can't play up forward. He'll shut down one of your forwards this week. Cox/Nic Nat were barely sighted up forward last week. You think Jenkins/McKernan are going to give him problems?

I'm gonna say it, anyone talking about Chaplin is an idiot. We recruited Knights and Maric from Adelaide, they got Tambling and Graham from us, Chaplin came from Port Adelaide. If you're going to argue the merits of which team picked up better players at least make it between the same clubs.

Adelaide would love a player like Knights on their team this year (ignoring injury).

To simplify;
Knights + Maric > Tambling + Graham

I'm actually pretty sure there was a mini-party held at Punt Road offices the day he was traded.*

*Actually not joking.
