This aged well
One guy, plus the equivalent of a fill in who wasn’t on our list 5 days ago.
So off the mark.

Too tall and slow.
In- Kelly + Waterman + Culley + Hunt
Out- Reid + Maric + J Williams + H Edwards (No Match up)
Sheed to go to LDU.
Would love Brockman as the in and getting a few CBAs (non Reid ones)
Well I don't speak for the rest of the supporter group, but personally I don't want Gaff and Sheed in our side, I don't care who is available.
Your hysterics on playing teenagers (when suggestions have included Dewar who is 20 and Culley who is 21) seem even more ridiculous when Reid is 19, Ginbey also 19 and Maric...also 19. Two of those guys have been amongst our best players this season and the other one has been a solid contributor.
Yes, and they didn’t play because better players were keeping them out.
Las week neither TK nor Hunt were available, so they played.
Trust me, bar Culley and Hutchison no one from the WAFl will help implement Simmo’s new game plan based on current output.
For a supporter group who has been crying out for selection integrity for years, some really seem to take issue with selection integrity if it means players they don’t want playing, indeed play.
I do understand where you are coming from, but the sort of conservatism in terms of keeping young players in the reserves until they are fully developed as such are for clubs like Geelong, Sydney, Collingwood (those who are in contention for flags/top four) for example.
We are… not.
I’m not anti Gaff or Sheed and don’t believe that every player of a certain age should be turfed out, but there has to be a reasonable balance and in our position, we should be able to afford to ‘carry’ one or two raw players a week. If that is Dewar or Johnston or Burgiel cycling in and out of the team, then we should do it. These guys need some exposure at senior level, even if a handful of games.
Happy enough for Gaff to stay in for now, but Dom probably needs a spell. Even with no TK or Harley next week, bring in Culley at the bare minimum
At the start of the season Simmo said if it was a 50/50 between young and old then youth would win out based on where the team is.
With that said how can gaff or sheed be in the side to face norf when culley has smashed it in his last 2 appearances.
Why do you assume its a 50/50 on Sheed/Gaff? What if theyre ahead? At the start of the season Simmo said if it was a 50/50 between young and old then youth would win out based on where the team is.

Making sure you don’t play young players before they’re ready is even more important for a team like us because we have less senior players to cover and help.
Anyone with a tank could play the role sheed or gaff ate doing at AFL level. Why do you assume its a 50/50 on Sheed/Gaff? What if theyre ahead?
Culley isnt fighting for a spot with Sheed/Gaff anyway.
Cant just drop the worst player in the AFL for the best player in the WAFL, need to keep some semblance of team structure with players in correct positions.
Culley isnt coming in to play wing, and not to play Sheeds HFF/tagger role either
I do get it. Getting the balance right is key.
I can’t see Sheed being omitted if no Kelly or Reid (I personally would). Agree with what you say about our list, the depth is threadbare and as it stands Sheed and Gaff are both in our top 25 players.
I certainly won’t stop watching whilst they are in or anything silly like that Still enough to enjoy most weeks, even yesterday in a slogging game, good to see Liam find form, Flynn’s first game, Harley’s second term etc.
This isnt true at allAnyone with a tank could play the role sheed or gaff ate doing at AFL level.
Probably, Kelly and Culley for Reid and Trew sounds reasonableIts kinda a moot point as culley will replace a suspended reid....a like for like swap i guess.
This is ridiculously harsh. Plenty of the wafl crew today had good games. We know the other blokes aren’t up to it atm moment, becuase they’re currently playing the 9th placed Demons and other than Hutchison -who’s been in our footy program for 2 days- Culley is the only one looking like he is anywhere near it.
Kids will play when they deserve it.
Your whole argument will fall over when Hutchison comes straight into the team next week or week after at latest.
How could dewar and Johnson have done anything in the last month when they spent two games playing a quarter of footy.Culley will be in, and if not, we have a huge issue.
But it’s not like he has put together a month of great footy and been kept out by credits crew.
He put together a good patch and should play.
It’s more people calling for Hall, Burgiel, Johnston or even Dewar to play.
None of them have done anything of note in the last month, and only Burgiel was good today.
Yes exactly Cully should be in. It's not always the posession count on the stats sheets that selects a player. Cully has put together a body of work, playing mid against better teams than Perth. He looks in good touch. Could go straight into the centre. Or play high half forward.Culley will be in, and if not, we have a huge issue.

No current season stats available
Many have been quite good in the wafl all year.Yes, but you don’t play just one good game and then get out straight in AFL team.
Culley has put together a solid month of footy coming back and has been very good since moving into midfield two weeks ago.
Best thing for Burgiel, Hall, Dewar, Rawlinson, Johnstone is to back up their games today with a couple of good performances back to back, similar to what Culley has done.
