At least he worked hard when he was on… he’s running on one leg and had 16 touches more than Dow and Ross with far less TOG.

He looks like he moves like a glacier. Surprised by that. Players always seem to be running off him while he looks like he's running in sand.

Currently on track for pick 5, which will at least become pick 7 after Levi Ashcroft and gold coasts latest academy handout.
We need to fall under Adelaide. (Currently pick 4)

That guarantees us one of Jagga Smith or Sid Draper. (Would be the projected mids at pick 4 As of today)

if anyone said we'd lose by 20, be 9 points down late in the 4th, and still kick 100, we'd be over the moon.

RoMa best on for me, I loved his last qtr, all heart.
Hammer as a backman, quite surprised, need him up forward still
great the see Snags snag 5, and Butler with 3, although I think he'll miss at least 1 game for that trip

are we wasting Wilson on a HFF? wonder if we could Swap positions with Bonner to get him in the game more?

much better game to watch when we kick goals and attack a bit more

Adelaide have more winnable games. When I did the ladder predictor we go under them with them finishing half a game above us.

Genuinely concerned for posters that think that was a snooze fest.
Mental health links on the front page.
Take a break and get healthy.
Think you missed the joke….the Autopsy post was opened and the first three or so posts written BEFORE the game…

Yeah I’d agree.

But I was just pointing out the obvious.

The ideal is falling all the way to 17th. But I can’t see either of those sides winning enough.

Unpopular I'm sure but I loved having big Tom Campbell in the team alongside Marshall.
Gave our mids some proper tap ruck centre bounce work to feed off and if you watch closely when TC went forward he set up I'd say 3 or 4 goals. Would keep playing him since the year is f*cked and he fronts up week after week to just be emergency. Might be his last run at AFL football - what have we got to lose by playing him. Great clubman.

I'd say popular opinion really, one of the few times we actually looked competent in clearance, against a generally quality set up also. The flow on then is someone like Caminiti or Cordy might have been stuck as a second ruck during Ro's rest, so we might have never curtailed Daniher for example by shifting Hammer back.

It certainly puts credence to him being named emergency that it just wasn't a token instance and was more just a team balance instance since as comms indicated he can really only play ruck as opposed to Ro who is that general ruck rover type.

100%
Let’s get serious we have a chance to bring in a top 5 kid we just have to take it
Kids now
W/L column irrelevant
Bring the effort like tonight I’m happy with that
It’s about growth
No more Ross Campbell Jones Membrey

Arie Pou Hugo etc from here.

I thought Dow has been build nicely, tonight he wasn't helped with the early ankle knock and with only 63% game time he did his job with the centre clearances and his pressure acts are underrated. When he get a full run at it I'm pretty confident he will be a positive influence for our midfield.
I like the addition of Campbell help Marshall show how good his engine is for a big man. Henry should absolutely have more midfield minutes and I was surprised how serviceable the hammer was down back and what about Shoey just wow.

If we lose every game for the rest of the year, but play like we did in that last quarter for the rest of the year, I'd be a happy man.

Marshall genuinely has the heart the size of a lion. Probably moved to a role which he doesn't prefer, but tried everything in his powers to drag us over the line.

I really hope steele is injured, and not just on a really quick decline towards the end. He's still only 28, but playing like a man that's 35.

Paddy Dow a genuine liability other then centre bounce, honestly don't see a future for him. His spread and movement in open play is non existent. Similar to Hunter, but Hunter has more tricks to his game.

Higgins elite, really liked butlers games, we are definitely a better side with him up and about. Henry looks so much more involved and dynamic around the ball, leave him there.

I thought king presented well tonight, he is defintaly playing some more consistent footy this past month. Owens starts like a house on fire but hardly sighted after that.

Bonner doesn't do it for me, diverts pressure from himself to teammates, and shanks one in three kicks.

You cannot help but like big Tommy Campbell. Arie looks a player, and windy is a coaches best friend.

Whilst I'm disappointed we lost, I've had a great day.
Flew up on the same plane as the Sandy team and got to experience the Gabba for the 1st time.
It's a great venue to watch football!
The last qtr was bloody exciting.
Great effort from the Hammer. He could barely walk at the end of the game.
And I got to see The Maker's debut.

Is that you Mrs Schoenmaker?

Lots of positives take home, putting aside the Collingwood game thought that was probably one of the more rounded performances winning the clearance battle and going at 53% I50. Missing half the back line really threw things out.

Campbell doing no harm of staying in the side, really balanced out the midfield and freed up Marshall.

Dow and Clark look so similar, really struggle to have any hurt factor around the ground when not doing much at clearance.

Solid performance from Windy on Neale, probably needs to find a way to play his own game too, probably won’t want him playing lock down every week.

Very decent game from Arie, only going to learn more from here. That first disposal on his left was a work of art. 18 disposals at 88% and 2nd most metres gained at 430 for Saints a fair effort in his first game.

Ability to stay in the contest is something we haven’t seen in this side for god knows how long. Need to take the small wins in a dismal season.

RTB talking up Schoenmaker in his after game presser, he was a big positive tonight along with us kicking more than 100 points.

Even though it was disappointing to lose tonight we played much better football tonight and we looked more potent up forward.

Higgins with 5 goals, King 3 goals, Owens 2 goals, Butler 2 goals, Wilson 1 goal and Wood 1 goal which should have been 3 goals.

At least Wood kicked a goal unlike that spud Bonner who missed his only shot at goal, we need to ditch him with that spud Jones.

100% win/win for me.

Unpopular as this will be to some…

WIN…one of our better games this year, despite Doogs, NAS and Webster-sized holes in our backline. Played an entertaining, positive brand, showed we could score efficiently and quickly, including some of our usual brain fades and despite the usual ump interference. ( boy, is there a lot to talk about on this…the non 6,6,6 warning etc etc etc)

WIN….maintain our spot on the ladder. Not interested in finishing higher this year.
Reality is , Doogs albeit played alright this year ( Cordy actually better stat's)? Webster never been as good alot of fans say. We have recruited well, last few years & need to continue this. So called experienced guys e.g Crouch, Hill- (comes good when we are losing- & now we are trying he is disappearing) Jones, Ross are just dead wood & on big money too.

I was critical of keeping Hammer on the field in the second quarter but I guess that shows how little I know.

I thought he should've gone back instead of Keeler in the preseason, tonight explained why. There's something to work with and persist with there.

I thought Campbell did really well today, prefer seeing that combo work the oppo ruck over, both can be dangerous up forward.

I'm sorry to Cordy, but when he gets towelled up by Casboult in the VFL, it's more likely than not that he will struggle on Daniher.

Henry and Hill were the catalyst for that comeback. Both can frustrate, but both can light up a game in minutes. Henry hopefully ok with the long break, needs to be in the middle more.

I can't work Higgins and Butler out, being a small forward in our forwardline is a tough gig. I've probably never flipflopped so much on two players as must as I do with those two.

The bye has come at a great time, hopefully Stocker, Webster and Nas will be available post bye. Arie must stay in the side. Bonner simply cannot survive the cut with those names available for selection.

Seb, you have been a great servant of our club and I appreciate what he's done. But his selection, or position on the field tonight was perplexing. Paton is a more than capable lockdown defender who shouldve played tonight, Seb's kicking left a lot to be desired as well.

Jones, please, we've seen enough. Get the games into Hugo, he literally offers nothing that a kid like Garcia couldn't offer.

I'd like to see Sharman, King and Owens as our forward talls going into the next with Caminiti down back whilst Howard is out.

Second half gave a bit of hope, frustration is there because the guys can show burst of just how good they can be. At this point, I'm all for the tank, only 9 weeks or so to go but I want the high draft pick.

Why we play Seb Ross week in week out I will never know. Can't crack more than a dozen disposals even when played through the middle or across half back.

More than happy to see Garcia and Hastie come in for Jones and Ross

Arie should be a starter over Bonner who should be in the VFL

Season over, blood the kids there is enough in them to take this club forward.

Would like to see how Heath and Marshall go in the second half of the season. Liked the 2 ruck combo
