I recall duffy injured not playing for peel.

Out: Suban, De Boer, Ballantyne, Mayne and Duffield.

In: Crozier, Blakely, Weller, Taberner and Sutcliffe.

Play Clarke as the first ruck with Sandilands out of the square, or drop Clarke instead of Mayne and have Taberner pinch hit imo.

see call me crazy but I don't understand this view point. I recall Duffy playing an awesome game against the Cats and scoring 2 goal 2 points (I think) as sub and sparking a massive revival where we came from a lot down and - bar Mundy's miss- nearly pinched the game. I remember Luke Hodge asking Barlow the next day on Game Day 'who the hell is that?" and I remember Duffy being given 10 minutes in his next game and being dropped for good. So what if he's not the world's best WAFL player? Son Son, who is my favourite player, was only OK at WAFL level too. Crozier has never had that level of influence on an AFL game.
I would give opportunities - in no particular order and not at the same time - to Weller, Grey, Duffy, Langdon and Blakely. Surely Alex Pearce has showed how good young players can be? Let alone the examples we see every week from the Saints, Dogs, Eagles and Giants.

That has been the sum total of Duffy's highlights after 3 years on the list. His Peel form has been underwhelming.Duffy is not an answer to the forward problems plus he is out for weeks with a calf.

What did MZUNGU DO TO GET DROPED.

Today highlighted a comfortable team who were blown away. We have been average for 5-6 weeks with minimal changes and some tough wet games, to go with the lack of form.

Changes are a must.

Ins: Blakely, Weller, Taberner, Griff, Crozier

Out: Suban, Clarke, Ballas, Duffield, De Boer

Need some speed and youthful exuberance and A Pearce showed that young blokes can perform if given an opportunity. Need to put a rocket up the subpar performers and see if we can uncover another gem or two.

*Highly doubt it will happen but we won't win a flag with this current team/set up.

Drop Suban , d. Pearce, deboer and c.pearce sheriden before gu.Maybe d.pearce the vest as warning.

We need to have a win against Carlton .Sutcliffe in Suban out. There won't be wholesale changes.
Weller or Blakley maybe and Tabs for De Boer.

Why does taking out 3-4 players who have been utter pus mean we're less likely to beat Carlton?

Lets be realistic - it is unlikely to be more than three changes. Let's start with who were the three worst players?

IMO of the names mentioned already in the thread:

1.Mzungu - Did relatively nothing and had wasteful disposal, had high number of tackles but I can't remember many sticking.
2. Duffield - Had the most tackles but that is probably because the ball was down there so often. IMO kicking was bad - but then apparently he had the second highest "disposal efficiency %".
3. DeBoer - also did nothing and missed an easy goal and second most free kicks against.
4. C. Pearce - hardly sighted and seems to have lost his penetrating accurate kicking.
5. D. Pearce - also hardly sighted and I remember a lot of bombing, but to be fair was often under pressure. Probably along with Ballantyne the biggest difference from his best.
6. Sheridan - I actually didn't think he was that bad - defended fairly well and I thought actually ran hard and had more accurate disposal than some of the others in this thread.
7. Suban - Was nowhere near what he can do, but limited time. Did have a large number of clangers for a low amount of time on ground and the lowest "efficiency %".
8. Ballantyne - ran hard, but his kicking was atrocious
9. Mayne - hardly sighted, and their backline had heaps of the ball (although to be fair, they had heaps because the entries were poor from Pearce, DeBoer and the like)
10. Clarke - missed some easy marks and generally was not in much when playing forward, but in his defence, I thought he was decent in the ruck. Large amount of time on ground (94%) but looked lost.

For me we lost the game on the outside midfield, particularly with disposal. Therefore, it would be C.Pearce, Clarke and DeBoer. So that is a tall and two smalls. I think in return it would be:

(1) Taberner - didn't get a chance, reckon he will get a go in the next game.
(2) Crozier - been the best WAFL player
(3) Weller - been playing as a forward / half forward, form has been good and has good disposal.

Blakely who has been consistently in good form would be unlucky.

So what? As I said, I remember before Son Son was recalled eons again there were plenty who said his Swans' form didn't deserve it. I am a great believer that some players have a swagger that means they can play at the top level. And means other teams have to plan for them because they are capable of doing the unexpected. There a re a few players in the current team who don't trouble other coaches in their game selection. I mean, would you really do any planning around de Boer, Suban, Mayne, Ballas (in his current form), Clarke? He deserves his chance but not if injured of course

It would be interesting to see what the man who hated these threads would say if he was still around. Would he call it a pointless waste time?

If he did he'd be right, because as tempting as it is to list a bunch of changes, they're not going to happen. And if they did happen it'd be bad for any premiership ambitions because it would signal things are even worse than they seem.

Fact is, there is nothing waiting in the wings that can remedy this performance. There are a lot of talented players who have played fewer than 20 games, and most of those have played exactly zero. Even those that have debuted have played no more than a handful full games.

And this isn't the time to bring them in wholesale, as the expectation is too large. Every week there has been a player in the firsts who could have been dropped for bad form, and equally a player in the WAFL whose form demanded selection. Maybe, had Weller, Crozier, Duffy, Langdon, Blakely or whoever played a few (more) games here and there during the season, they'd be better prepared to either play now or in a few weeks. But they haven't, and therefore they most likely can't.

The team Ross put out today is the closest to what he believes can win every game. He's not going to deviate the way we want, and perhaps the way the club needs.

This in a nutshell worse luck, hopefully can turn it around.
