I'm not as convinced he did his role. Like I said he and Yarran were not that near each other in first half. He got 3 touches and gave away 2 dumb frees on top of /that.

Whilst I agree Morris struggles to get many touches, It's his manic pressure that's got him a few games this year. Having watched the Carlton game again, he hits the opponents very hard and once he's made his presence known, i'm sure they are looking over their shoulder, watching out for him. Having just said that though, he plays right on the edge and therefore gives away to many frees. He is never going to make it playing as a forward in this team because he's only good for that pressure he brings and can't kick goals. He's not really required down back anymore with far more skillfull players now down there.
He was a revelation when he first came to the team in the backline, but the team has evolved leaving him behind and unfortunately, 2nd or 3rd choice depth imo

Now that he's been selected  I wouldn't have Gordon as sub. Tell him that this COULD BE his last half of AFL ever, Now or never and it better be bloody good.

Just can't see it myself.
Happy that McDonut and Lennon are playing. Dea must be the unluckiest man at the club.

Dea may still get a chance I reckon, it's just that all our outs this round were forwards and Dea is clearly not. I think he would be 1st or 2nd choice to replace a Batch or Grimes and maybe even a Houli or Hunt if the unthinkable were to happen. He's done pretty good when he has played and I hope his lack of opportunities have come down to us having got a very settled and uninjured backline currently.

Some are already saying this no expectations yet if he has half a dozen posessions zero tackles will he get the same treatment as newman gordon and morris?? No he needs to me

The fun bit will be the tears if (when?) he's made sub.

You serious? Every time he went near the ball he was absolutely useless. He turned over every possession.

I've watched the tigers for the last 25 years so I have a fairly good grasp on what an ordinary performance is.
Deadly. We have had worse players play imo. Not saying Gordon wasn't bad, but we have had worse.

Imagine Thursday nights on BF with that lot, lol
Yep some absolute champs in that lot!

Probably bookmark Gordan for 2-3 goals and Newman to get 15+ and a goal. Both are downhill skiers and will justify their place to Hardwick against St Kilda.

McDonough or Lennon (if playing a full game) might get 12-20 and a goal but because the experienced players performed at least 1 of Lenno and McDonough will be dropped the following week.

I don't mind Lennon and McDonough being made to earn games, I just wish it was consistent across the board with players in AFL being required to justify their selection. Seems Newmans selection is automatic and Gordon is first choice replacement regardless of VFL form.

Newman has experience and runs on the board. Will always get preferencefor

Loyalty is important, however last year should have been when the loyalty ran out. Plenty of other clubs have made calls on players that were playing much better than Newy, ie Kornes, Brad Sewell, Chappy, just last week Boomer Harvey was the sub. I like Newy just as much as anyone else here, but he has to somehow justify his spot, which he hasn't done in a long time now.

We didn't make the call on Newy last year because we didn't want to use a draft pick that gets 2 years in that year considering we drafted 10 newbies. This way we can have it this year, so as give 1 of our other players a reprieve if needed ie Madonna.

That's fine and I had no issue with Newman playing on, however he should not be an instant selection any more, unless his form warrants it. He is averaging 8 touches over the last 4 weeks, if he is going to play out the year he needs a run in the VFL to try and regain some sort of touch.

Of course he will if he does it for 2 years straight.

Nice of you to give the kid a chance though and show your support. :$:p

Good selections by Dimma this week I think. Not sure about the 2 rucks but trying to make the best of a bad situation I think.

Gordon whilst shit last week was ok the 2 weeks before. Would want to pull the finger out and redeem himself. Need goals from him this week badly.

The Round 16 Richmond team

B: Grimes, Batchelor, Rance
HB: Houli, Vlastuin, Chaplin
C: Ellis, Cotchin, McIntosh
HF: Martin, Hampson, Miles
F: Riewoldt, Deledio, Gordon
R: Maric, Grigg, Hunt
IC: Newman, Lambert, Lennon, McDonough
Em: Dea, Lloyd, Morris

Fair enough. Would like some positional changes (Hampson 1st ruck, Ivan CHF) but we're not going to show our hand to the oppo, are we. Good, strong back six as usual. Am a bit of a Morris fan so am glad he has a sniff. Yep ... OK. :thumbsu: (Edit: And Gordon is in a forward pocket where he probably won't do any harm)

I'll bring it here rfctiger74 as the other thread has been locked, if one of Maric/ Hammer is dropped as is your wish, who helps out the lone ruckman for the match, see the dilemma we have
I don't see it happening as we are fixated with 3 tall timber team and going back to just one can't happen. I expect Maric to ruck mostly and hampson playing more of the forward roll and relief ruck.

Soooo....lennon and everyones wank material donut is in. Just going to wait for those 7 great disposals for donut and then remind people he isnt the second coming of christ
Dude young guys need regular games to show the potential being sub and brought on for a few minutes does show much. Ellis was played every game in his first year never got dropped yet some other youngsters aren't shown the same respect. This kid has done nothing wrong but won't be given a game. You watch he'll be sub again come on last quarter get his 7 touches and you will be saying i told you so. Anyway time will tell when he lines up for the crows and burns it up against us.

Would love to be there but working now and tomorrow, plus finances. :(

Love the Tiges but Liverpool are my first love, no secret there!
Do you see anyone that's coming to the meet up? Let me know who it is and i'll give them the scarf to pass it on to you.

Actually, if TheLoungeLizard turns up give it to him, he can give it to his sister, who can then give it to my son or daughter who go to her school or my wife who works there, cheers mate. :thumbsu:

Sorry guys, im overseas at the moment and may have missed the Titch Edwards news. What happened with his leg in the end? Will he be back for us this year? And while you're at it, Corey Ellis too?
