I'm not as convinced he did his role. Like I said he and Yarran were not that near each other in first half. He got 3 touches and gave away 2 dumb frees on top of /that.
Whilst I agree Morris struggles to get many touches, It's his manic pressure that's got him a few games this year. Having watched the Carlton game again, he hits the opponents very hard and once he's made his presence known, i'm sure they are looking over their shoulder, watching out for him. Having just said that though, he plays right on the edge and therefore gives away to many frees. He is never going to make it playing as a forward in this team because he's only good for that pressure he brings and can't kick goals. He's not really required down back anymore with far more skillfull players now down there.
He was a revelation when he first came to the team in the backline, but the team has evolved leaving him behind and unfortunately, 2nd or 3rd choice depth imo
Now that he's been selected I wouldn't have Gordon as sub. Tell him that this COULD BE his last half of AFL ever, Now or never and it better be bloody good.
Just can't see it myself.
Happy that McDonut and Lennon are playing. Dea must be the unluckiest man at the club.
Dea may still get a chance I reckon, it's just that all our outs this round were forwards and Dea is clearly not. I think he would be 1st or 2nd choice to replace a Batch or Grimes and maybe even a Houli or Hunt if the unthinkable were to happen. He's done pretty good when he has played and I hope his lack of opportunities have come down to us having got a very settled and uninjured backline currently.
