I just can't reconcile this performance with the team from the last 7 weeks. Wasn't expecting a win but the skill level has been sub vfl stuff.

It's really not a shock.
We have a team that is learning to defend when things aren't going our way, and being 1% off is enough to ruin things for us.

This is why I was telling most that this week was going to be a hella hard game - Cats win percentage at this ground is like 80%. Its a craphole and let's never come back.

I think you have forgotten how dire Rounds 1 to 5 were. Recency bias.

After round 5, people were saying we were a decade off and we had zero talent in the side. It ain't that bad. Just a touch up by an experienced side, on their home deck.

We are not good away and particularly where sides have huge home advantages like Suns or Cats.
