Are you able to see how many times we've played A.Pearce, Cox and Ryan in the same team? (Preferably all in the backline.)
with both Moose and Cox in the backline, last weekend was probably the first time. with either Cox or AP up forward, 1 game in 2021, 5 in 2019 and then 13 in 2018.

I'm not sure what the other forwards and mids can do that to bring him into the game?
The coach could swing him into the middle - I'm pretty sure we went with the same 4 midfielders at centre bounces the whole match (though I'd expect that number would increase if: different players were available, i.e. Fyfe; or we were blooding someone, e.g. Erasmus, O'Driscoll). I know we were winning the CCs but it would be great to see JL try and get Walters more involved somehow (perhaps giving Serong a look up forward in the process).

Meek, Lobb and Darcy all named in the 18 - interesting early test of the theory that the 18 named on the field on Thursday are always in the final 22

Thanks, Van_Dyke.

I think perhaps having those three in the same backline makes us a little too immobile. I know Pearce ain't no turtle in a straight line but I'm not sure about his turning circle. One of the reasons we looked so dangerous in the first scratchie against WC was how quick we were. Clark, Wilson, Logue, Colyer, Switkowski, Western... it was electric (and only two of the three previously mentioned big fellas played).

i hope the latter is just someone putting two and two together, JL said this in his presser today

Mundy, Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan didn’t train but Longmuir said the squad remained free of COVID protocols.

“I think it’s pretty inevitable in the current climate, so we’re doing everything we can to put in precautions,” Longmuir said.

“But we’re going to have to face it at some stage.”

Back out of business: Fyfe’s worrying injury blow

(and yes it is a quartermaine but i couldn't find anything else)
that's ****ing poor by JL imo

Meek likely comes out from that then Noddy, Walker, Henry/Colyer IMO

or one of those in for Ryan because he lives with Cox who is under protocols and maybe the club is trying to figure out whether Luke is also under protocols (hence being benched)

Fremantle midfielder David Mundy and defender Brennan Cox will miss Sunday’s game against St Kilda after entering the AFL’s Covid-19 health and safety protocols.

Mundy and Cox will be in isolation for seven days.

that's really thrown me tbh. does treacy maybe come out for darcy if the theory holds true?

The positive is we've lost players that we can cover with almost no impact to our likelihood of winning.

Obviously Meek for Darcy, Hamling in for Cox, Aish for Mundy, I'd be swapping Banfield for Colyer too. Walker to come in for Ryan if he goes into Iso.

They're just playing silly buggers surely, if Darcy is in Meek is out automatic. We'd be too slow with all three rucks. Meek doesn't offer enough around the ground to retain his spot if he's not first ruck.

In my opinion the bench will be:
[27] Heath Chapman,[17] Will Brodie,[13] Luke Ryan,[21] Joel Hamling,

so missing out are: [23] Liam Henry,[35] Josh Treacy,[30] Nathan O'Driscoll,[31] Brandon Walker

Effectively Darcy for Treacy, Hamling for Cox, Aish for Mundy, Colyer for Henry

I think you're reading too much into the extended bench. Treacy will play and Meek won't for starters.
