Fly's presser.

Did you have a few worries at Quarter Time?

Your DNA of pressure was back. Did you have to speak to the group at Quarter Time or was it something that naturally evolved?

Josh Daicos seemed to stand up in his brother's absence. It was a fantastic wasn't it?

What's your initial diagnosis of Darcy Moore's injury?

Are you worried you might have seen Darcy Moore for the final time in the H&A season?

Have you spoken to Darcy Moore?

How gutsy was that win considering Moore went off and you would have had some sore bodies?

Moore's subbing led to the inclusion of Jack Ginnivan who had three goal assists. Must have been good to see him back?

Has Ginnivan done enough to be back in your best 22?

When the players were introduced pre-game, Ginnivan seemed to get the biggest cheer from the supporters. Did you sense how popular he is from the fan base?

What have you wanted to see from Ginnivan? Is it in relation to seeing more with his defensive for example?

Brody Mihocek kicked an equal career high 5 goals after a recent form slump. That must have pleased you?

Can you take us through the last 6 days with Nathan Murphy and how he managed to play tonight and how important he was for you guys?

What was your reaction to Jeremy Cameron's two out of bounds goals? Did you see it?

There were strong reactions to your premiership chances last week after the loss to Hawthorn and Nick Daicos' injury? How much of it was real and how much of it was hysteria?

Is Jeremy Howe a part of your forward line mix heading going forward?

Challenges keep coming with Brisbane up next at Marvel. How confident are you heading into that match?

John Noble and Jordan De Goey seemed to get some knocks. How did they pull up?

McRae getting word that Noble rolled an ankle. He'll be shocked when he rolls in on Monday with two different coloured legs. Looked like the biggest corkie of all time.

The Good:

  • The win
  • Not having to put up with the media talking us down after a loss
  • Getting the win despite having Moore out
  • How good is it having Ginni back playing well?!
  • Good game from Lipinski
  • Brilliant game from Murphy, especially given we thought he was finished for H&A
  • The pressure looked hot hot hot at times
  • We keep getting good crowds that are up and about
  • Good to finally win a few clearances

The Bad:

  • Start to the game
  • Start to the final quarter / my nerves in the final quarter
  • Question marks over Moore’s fitness

The Ugly:

* Umpiring. Shockers both ways. Makes our game look amateurish.

We cant be too hard on the umpires. They were unsighted, all 4 of them.
Port supporters would be spewing.
Allir Allir took a couple of steps off his line and was pinged by the boundary umpire.

I watched Anzac Day match in France once a few years ago, it never crossed my mind to continually post my whereabouts in the match day thread.
As the saying goes; different strokes for different folks

The ignored front on contact to Hoskin-Elliott just outside the goal square has been lost amongst the mark & handball from the carpark.

Also felt the cats got away with quite a few hold on our mids especially in the first half and a lot of 50/50 decisions which are sometimes paid / sometimes not went their way. Immediately following some of those 50/50 there was a more obvious one our way, which probably makes the umpiring seem worse.

Almost shouted myself hoarse at the holds on our mids.

Like everyone, I went totally apeshit at the 2 Cameron "goals".
It's either incompetence or outright cheating, because there were umpires in the right spots in both cases.
There's a break after a goal so ads can be run, so there's time to review.
The goal review system should be extended to cover things like this.

Slow start and it looked to be tracking as a game were Geelong couldn’t miss goals and we couldn’t not miss our shots.

Second quarter was on our terms and we dominated the third. 6 goals vs 2 goals in that third quarter, one of which was out of bounds and the other came from a flop.

The handball from the carpark gave the cats early momentum in the last quarter, but thankfully Cameron stopped pulling goals out of his arse and started kicking behinds. We steadied well and got the margin back out to 4 goals. A few junk time goals to bring that down to 8 points doesn’t change that we were the better side for three quarters of the match.

Still some things to work on, but a lot to like. Pressure was high, Daicos had his best game, DeGoey a great third term, Mihocek with 5 earned goals, McStay continuing to build, Howe forward, Frampton at full back, the focus on a mature Ginnivan who last year would have kicked a couple that he gave off allowed Hill to get free.

******* lol Scott saying in his press conference that people he’s spoken to said the ball wasn’t out of bounds when Cameron got the handball, * right off campaigner

Scott is an Idiot

Murphy. Seriously. So reliable. So brave. He was a long time coming but now he’s here. J’adore.
He made up for the loss of Moore. Josh Daicos did the same for the loss of his brother, helped by Ginnivan and Bobby stepping it up with some precise and creative delivery to teammates. Weird game from us, starting like we did last week then grinding our way back with some inspired play. Noble gave much needed run after looking a bit at sea early. Quaynor was good. Mihochek still can't mark but there was nothing wrong with his goal kicking.

Our Cameron really is a B grade ruck, but I can see why he is probably preferred to Cox. He is more the workhorse type who battles away. Just wish he could recapture his former marking and goal kicking prowess. McStay was strong in the air. De goey came good after a poor start, then faded late.

J Cameron was too good for his opponents with 7 goals, or at least was able to take advantage of our attacking defence being out of position and leaving openings. Henry made the most of his chances and made me rue his need to be enveloped in the family bosom. Dangerfield gave them great drive from the middle.

But we overcame the odds and won a game we had to win, particularly with our injury to Nick. Hopefully he is back for finals.
