Good win, we hunted well in the 3rd, hopefully the hunger is there again next week, should have buried em but it’s great to get the monkey off our back

Don't play him next week. We have top 2 sewn up. Maybe play him against the Bumbers, but only if he is feeling absolutely 100% in the hammy.

I kind of wish Matthews had of played the fat prick in the 1990 GF now just so we wouldn't have to suffer his sooking anti-collingwood shit commentary for the next 40 bloody years.
That was a good gutsy win in the end.We had to battle another slow start,work our way back into the game,then hold them off with the umpires doing everything,and I mean everything in their power ,to get Geelong back into the game.Even the boundary umpires got into the act,gifting them two goals they didn’t deserve.
Seriously the 4 umpire system has been an absolute failure this season. Two goals Geelong kicked from over the boundary line!!
Couple of shout outs to smaller plays that may have gone unnoticed -
Some massive efforts by WHE to compete aerially against MUCH bigger bodies in the second and third quarter. He broke even with several and even won two contests against ratagolea, who must legitimately have about 50kg on him.
The game turned when Johnny Noble got on his bike from half back and started our running handball game. He slowed after Danger tried to hurt him (and succeeded) in a very hard tackle. But he was a real catalyst.
Dan McStay put in his best game for the club. He again showed excellent hands, but perhaps his best play - and a real game turner - was when he outpointed Ratagolea and halved the contest despite being woefully out of position, then won the ground ball, then found Adams in the centre to set up an Elliott goal. Huge effort.
Murphy stepped right the **** up in Moore's absence and is a genuinely good defender in his own right now. Knows when to go, affects every contest he's a part of, and can take a very handy contested mark.
Howe up front looked really, really classy. Not only did he mark them and kick a couple, he crucially spoiled Stewart and Ratagolea to bring the ball to ground even when he was being shepherded out of the contest. I love him down there.
(Just typing this all out now, thank God for Ratagolea)
Ginni pig was as impactful as any player on the ground. He was so CLEAN. Amazing hands in tight situations. He makes a difference. Great performance.
Daicos was insane, but the 45 degree inside kick in the third quarter to hit Adams was the best kick of the season, IMO. Outstanding.
Lipinski is a natural mid - infinitely better in there that up front. Clean hands and elite disposal. A great return to form.
I love bobby hill. That's all.
Pendles, Crisp, Quaynor, Maynard and Noble all got us going with elite ball handling and handballing of the HB line. Some of those risky passages where we weaved through dozens of bodies then found the free man - THAT is Collingwood footy. That's the DNA the boys have been talking about this week.
Let's hope it's back.
There were many other highlights - we had winners all over the ground after Q1, Adams, Mitchell, JDG, and Checkers kicking five.
We knocked the reigning premiers out of finals despite poor form going into the game, a spate of injuries, and some trash umpiring trying to drag the cats home. All in all, not a bad night's work
