We made them look stupid last night, some serious primma donnas in that pies side.

We played for each other as a team, they had too many show ponies, ie daisy trying to do the big individual thing

A reflection on the coaches?

Our boys are playing how ratts played,

No.

Thornton can legitimately play both back and forward but Bower cannot.

Wasn't happy with Jamo being made to play forward either. He is nearly an AA fullback. FFS play him there.

Bower playing on a man in defence is better than Thornton playing on a man in defence, which would have been the concern last night heading into a match with the pies. On the other hand Thonrton is definitely better forward. But then so is Walker.

Loved the passion Zac Tuohy plays with, some of his attacks on the ball in dispute were a highlight, and loved his big fist pump at the end once the siren went.

Fast becoming my favourite player. The man plays with pure steel, guts and determination. Like Robbo but with more guidance control. There's something about those Irish blokes... they breed 'em tough. So many more Carlton players putting their heads over the ball these days - Tuohy and Robbo leading the way :)

They're not all going to be quite as tough as Robbo and Tuohy but most of the team isn't far behind either.

Lucas is the player standing out as one that could go in a little harder, for now.

Every week you just know Murph is gonna get 30 odd touches, a goal or two and set up a few. Such a consistent player, did it all last season and has done it every game so far. I'm seriously starting to consider him being better than Judd.

Touhy set the tone when he went low into the legs of Beams. Was done with intent to hurt anyone whom was going to get in his way. Natural aggression.
A real WTF moment for Beams.
And he is only 22 years old.
A Max Rooke type tough bastard.

Some stats

Contested posessions - Carlton 152 - 122 Collingwood :D

Clearances - Carlton 50 - 32 Collingwood (19-9 centre clearances as well)

Tackles - Carlton 54 - 48 Collingwood (won the disposal count by 80 touches as well) :D

I50's - Carlton 58 - 39 Collingwood

It was inevitable once that final siren went last night all we were going to hear about were the Pies' injuries. Funny reading some of their posts.

Watched Buckley's pressor. Unbelievably, he blamed Malthouse for their current situation, by saying the decline started at the beginning of season 2011 Just, wow. Pies were actually the top-2 H&A performer throughout the entire season - perhaps he missed that. Nathan, the "decline" actually started when YOU took over. Player disunity is a growing concern. There's lots of bad blood left over from some players and Buckley from when he was captain. Thomas despises the guy, and Swan asked to be removed from the leadership group when Buckley took over, and has turned up this season carrying a bit of a belly. Then there's the mass exodus of Mick's coaching staff. Buckley's public criticism of Mick's tactics during last season meant he was on the outer of the coaching group, and so never got a coaching apprenticeship like say Longmire did under Roos at Sydney. This is brewing as one almighty disaster of epic proportions. This big loss has just brought a little more attention onto this festering problem. Sacking Malthouse at his peak and replacing him with Buckley is the coaching equivalent of drafting Tambling over Franklin.

:)

Hi blues board, just wanted to pop over and say I thought you looked good against us last week, but were awesome against the pies. Love watching them get thumped :thumbsu:

Zac - A scud missile. Guided to the spot for pin point devastation
Mitch - A ballistic missile. Destroys everything and everyone within it's immediate radius

Just wanted to point out that Daisy is a bit of a ****, in particular with his bumps, once on Murphy (out of play) when Judd had a mark, once on Laidler (high) when contesting the ball, and once on Henderson (when the ball had been run out and Hendo was jogging back to position). Gets on my nerves

Oh oh. What have I done...hahahahaha

Lets be serious here for a minute.

Carlton didnt let you blokes play well. You were smashed BEFORE Ball and Reid went off.

1) Pendles isnt injured, he got a number done on him by Carrots.
2) Swan is Fat and Lazy. He needs to sort his head out.
3) Maxwell was underdone
4) You got ROFLSTOMPED in the ruck by Kreuzer who is a #1 pick and a GUN.
5) Judd and Murph are in Career best form as is Betts.
6) Henderson is very under rated and did very well on cloke who for a man who can take a mark with his eyes closed and both hand tied behind his back looked like he needed 7 gloves last night.
7) Dawes needs to learn to mark
8) Daisy is too reliant on others inside to be playing well for him to fire.
9) Jolly GAWN not good enough now at this level against quality rucks
10) You cant blame Mick/Buck changeover = Geelong? Adelaide?
11) Carlton are also not full strength yet. (Obv the Pies have more out)

I could continue........

You guys got beaten by a much better team last night.

I wouldnt be worried too much and calling for heads quite yet. You are used to winning so much being flogged hurts and especially by Carlton but last night was more of Carlton making you look bad than you being actually bad.

There are obv a few concerns with some of your players but I would be more looking at their performances against port or Essendon to evaluate how they are.

I saw Army, giving it to him in the last, verbal and push and shove....:thumbsu:

Massive show pony, clippty clop

Boys looked good last night gents. One guy l was super impressived with was Waite. Not only his clean has on the lead up around half forward but more so when numerous times he was 3 deep and out positoned in a contest due to a poor entry and he time and time again was able to create a spoil to get it to ground for the little ones to crumb. Massively important to your whole set up. Cheers.
