All this whining about being down a couple players and being underdone. Lol Reid went off but he isn't part of their mid rotations and they replaced ball with Sinclair (yes obviously he's nowhere near the calibre of ball but he can run) they are full of excuses to try and make themselves feel better.
Truth is kruezer and hampson smashed both of their ruck men and that's why we killed them in clearances (ironically enough our most dominant period was in the first quarter where ball and Reid were still playing). Our mids were getting first hands to the ball and dictating play all night.
As for the underdone side of things that is a load of shit! We were only able to field a close to full side one week before the season started, lost all our nab cup games and Jamison played his first game all year and played well and Duigan was looking fine for the small game time he had. Then there's still walker to come back.
Who did they really have missing that would've made a huge difference last night? Tarrant on Waite could've helped but then again they chose not to play brown, didak is finished and then there's Johnson. Well you'd have to be deluded if you think those couple of players would've made a 10 goal or 15 scoring shot difference.
I'm not letting these bullshit excuses take the shine off our win their midfield was almost full strength and they are the ones that got slaughtered last night.

It should be noted that one of Collingwood's center clearances was due to a shocking bounce which should have been recalled if the umpire was competent

Too right. No-one on the Collingwood Board stoops to that and that's how it should be.
Fair call.
If it was reveresed - if we had been without two of our best defenders, one of our best mids, and a few other handy bit players, and Collingwood had been at full strength - then we would rightly be claiming that is was a lopsided game.
Interesting aside. Luke Ball has done his ACL. Ruled out for the season.

Just watched the replay (thanks zee), plenty I miss in the heat of a game.
Scoreboard flattered the Pies.
Gee we missed some goal opportunities especially in the 3rd. At one stage Bruce said in the call how long can the pies hold on, as we were peppering the goals but missing.
At least 4 gimmes went begging. Kruzers brain fart after marking in the goal square, Jeffys miss after the 2E kick out and Kruze knock on coast to coaster for one of the quarters 2 posters (I think Scotty had the other) and Eddie got one earlier in the game.
Had we taken them, the margin between the sides would not have been to dissimilar to the Lions margin.
Its still only 4 points and some percentage but there was so much to take out of that game. So much improvement still to come, it must be scaring some of the sides we will come against.
Cant wait to smash the Bombers.
