Ins - anyone who can improve our contested ball in tight and help with clearances.
we are going to be in a world of trouble if we fail to get repeat fwd 50's because we are not winning at the coal face.

Really is time to look at a second tall fwd. we looked awful most of the game in the air in fact all yr in the fwd half.we cant keep on relying on players like Edwards and castagna to compete in the air or take contested marks.Plus there are so many contests the opposition just dont allow JR to get to.

Also think it is time especially against weaker sides to start getting some games into some of the talls. There will come a time where our talls get hurt and the backups wont have any afl experience worth mentioning. Fmd there is better performed than JG, SB, JH and others at times yet we still play em and thats great .Just saying we need to get some games into some of the talls as well, otherwise it could get real ugly if things injuries!!! go against us.

We need to start making players pay a price for drifting out of games so many of our players just dont stay involved and far to many too often just dont get their hands on the pill enough.

Lastly it really is time we rewarded those who have performed with games rather than feel good stories and favorites, we also need to address actual needs and depth, where we are short of it while we are at it.

Broad while he didnt do a lot wrong didn't exactly bang the door down or do a lot in the two's. IMO it would be a great opportunity to play a kid like Balta as a third tall at either end and give him a taste especially against a young developing team like Brisbane. They will probably play Broad anyway but that should not stop us putting a game or two into Balta.

FB/ Grimes - Astbury - Vlastuin
HB/ Houli - Rance - Broad

C/ Grigg - Caddy - B Ellis. Would prefer a quick skillful line breaker who runs both ways.
R/ Nankervis - Cotchin - Prestia

HF/ Butler - Riewoldt - Edwards
FF/ Castagna - Moore - Martin

INT/ Balta - Miles - Graham - McIntosh

Reckon all of Broad, Prestia, and Caddy will play, thats probably all the changes there will be. personally think its an opportunity to try a different set up and get some games into some young talls.

Changes
Broad for Short . different types. Prefer Broad because of the flexability and can actually defend a player.
Caddy for Lloyd. Speaks for itself
Prestia for Conca. Speaks for itself.
on top of that would like to see
Moore for Townsend. A strong marking quick tall player for a slow non marking medium who is barely touching it or laying tackles.
Miles for Lambert. Reckon Lambert has been poor so far this yr. Besides Miles brings that needed contested inside game that we are missing atm.
Balta for Higgins.Huge point of difference here. Do we really have a role for Jack atm.He can't play midfield and theres 5 or 6 others in the team who can
play fwd.I belive as depth goes it is more important to gift a game to a young tall than a young small atm.

Coaches very rarely make 7 changes in a losing team let alone a winning team, yeah we have a few weaknesses to fill and players to come in but 7 changes is a bit much.

Did say we would probably only make three Caddy, Prestia, Broad . We may not even make three. I Added what id like to see with 3 other changes Moore for an out of sorts Townsend fwd for fwd, Balta utility for Higgins sml fwd, so taking a different approach and Miles inside mid for the out of sorts Lambert mid.
Yep they will only make a few but theres room for the 6 mentioned imo.

we arent playing great footy atm and a shake up might get a few players hungry again.

Conca is getting better hate how so called Richmond supporters bash him after his shocking run with injuries yeah he coughs it up a bit but was a bit sharper on Sunday and Dion Prestia isn't much more reliable of a kick , And Broad should be made to earn his spot back, short doing the job to hold his spot don't bring back till he shows he wantsit in the vfl .

Hi Reece

More chance of LolNorf finishing in the top 4 than Higgins being dropped.

Prestia needs an easy game and Caddy is a walk in, Lloyd is a certainty who goes for Prestia? it's out of Higgins, Conca, Short and Graham and only one of them is a 1 game rooky

In regards to:

Prestia: VFL have a bye. So he either plays this week in the ones or he trains. Do we take him in and limit his game time? Can we afford that luxury? Is it more beneficial for his conditioning to play now or wait a week. Hard for us to know. I think Prestia coming back into the side releases Lambert a little more as well. Might be a chance for him to find some form too. I though Graham was pretty good in the second half getting involved across half forward though.

Conca: Conca criticism I feel was warranted. He was woeful in the first two weeks floating around half back. The reason he had a better game this week was because he went into the guts, so his role was completely different. He won some strong footy and got clearances. His kick to Castagna was ****ing atrocious when we were on the break, but he just needs to use his hands to get it to a better ball user. His second half showed he is worth persisting with, even if it is only for one more week. Having said that, we are a good side now and a decent half of footy isn't enough to solidify your spot.

Townsend & Broad: Both are just so integral in allowing those around them to play with freedom. I think as long as Broady is fit then we play him. The cohesiveness that was developed amongst the back 6 last year was a beautiful thing. I don't think he (or Towner) are required to be knocking a door down whether they are in the team or trying to get in. It isn't what is required. They have specific roles that allow others around them to excel. Not saying they can be useless but their existence alone has merit in the side.

Broad allows our backline to be more versatile, both more attacking and more defensive. Bottom line is I think teams will score less when Broady is part of our best 6. Cotch for example worked really hard in our defensive 50 rebounding the ball. So losing Short for Broad works if our mids work hard back. Having Towner allows Caddy to play with more freedom too.

Sure we can't expect to have our best side out there every week and it is yet to be determined this season our best 22 going forward. But the familiarity in the roles, the combined growth and the cohesiveness built last year makes it look like we have glaring deficiencies compared to when we think back.

For me this season it has been the patches of maturity which has been most encouraging about our new direction as a football club. Our ability to dig in when our opponent is on a run, to not leak and leak, to be able to build meaningful forward thrusts when we are pegged in on the last line. There are things I could list which I don't love, but I think those things are obvious and will be clearly addressed going forward.

In: Broad, Prestia, Caddy
Out: Outs are bloody hard! It's gotta be Short, Conca, Lloyd. Or we drop Brando.. Hate to see Shorty go.

Conca you've been told before stop making new accounts and trying to promote yourself

Mods are onto you

Don't get how people defend conca. Yes his hd his issues getting on the park but when he has he's hasn't shown much. He lost me after his vfl GF performance.... turnovers with no pressure, no awareness, dumb footballer
Don't like to bag our own but his not up to it

The difficult thing about the Dees game is it's on a Tuesday and we back up by playing the next round on the following Sunday. That will test Prestia if Melbourne is his first hit out but I'd rather not play him this week if he ain't ready.

I don’t think he has confidence in set shot goal kicking.
Caddy has the same problem.
It’s fair enough to go to someone with a better chance, but you’re statistically more likely to nail a 70% shot than an 80% pass followed by an 80% shot. Especially with those ones we mark 15m out, we just have to kick them. I reckon we let a goal or two a game go begging stupid handballs. Or at least 10 unnecessary heart attacks in the crowd.

In fairness, every club has them.
I sat next to a Tigers supporter on grand final day - deadset moron.
If his whinging was to be believed, the free kick count at half time would have been

You finally caught up with Madtiger2006 I see lol.;)
