2 weeks for bracing and standing his ground? fu** me, that’s pathetic. The AFL let’s deliberate, off the ball hits go (McGovern a few weeks ago, Tom Lynch about 3 times last year) and Rioli flies in for a hip and shoulder/“marking attempt” but then Paddy just stands and turns and Day gets a bit of whiplash and he’s gone for multiple weeks. Pathetic by the AFL. And pathetic by the commentators to crucify him on game day.
Nothing to do with the commentators but I would have said the same. It was certainly worth talking about during the game. Deserved a week

Bit sick of all the Saints concussions and broken jaws being 'just accidents', Rioli being let off, but an example needs to be made when it is a Saints player.
How many other players have been suspended for 'potential to cause injury' since Ben Long.

Appeal. I will be happy for it to be reduced to one.

And some on here pooh pooh our “victim mentality” but jeez we get the rough end of the stick when it comes to tribunal judgements.
That Long “potential to do harm” was a total crock.

We must appeal and we need to use someone other than Jack Rush who has had zero success with appeals thus far.

Think we should use Nathan Buckley! 😉

I love Hayes, but I would much rather Campbell in the ruck. Marshall isn’t in the best form, and Campbell can offer more in the middle, protect Max up forward and he can kick a goal or two.

Chol & Witts are pretty good pair, we need to match that in the middle to beat them.

All for protecting the head.

But no one has come out and said what Ryder should have done only that he shouldn’t have bumped.

His feet were planted and Day took a
Step to the left.

What is Ryders duty of care to jump out of Days way?

It is a contact sport with players coming at you from all directions occasionally there is going to be head knocks that are accidental and unavoidable.

Someone please tell me what the alternative action was for Ryder.

campbell in to negate witts, hayes in for marshall

but honestly marshall hasn't been great, needs to find some form

Maybe Marshall likes to be the main man. I think he’s always played better without Paddy, but no question having both is first choice. Bodes well for life after Paddy though…in about three years… 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

How they come to this conclusion with apparently no understanding of the evidence or context is just baffling.

At some point we’ll come thudding back to Earth, but let’s enjoy it for now.

It’s really nice to be playing attractive footy again, and having genuine match-winners in the team.
I just like all the extra media.

The problem is Roma always seems to take a few weeks to warm back into the main role

Well I hope he’s warmed up now because next week he’s it!
