Ae we expecting Yeo to get a week? Cameron got a week and Lever played out the game and wasn’t injured. Same scenario for Yeo, looked like Flogstun hit his head on the ground….. reckon he’ll get a week, which is ridiculous if the bloke wasn’t injured at all.
Cameron's tackle was a sling, he rotated him a full 180 degrees. Yeo's was just a hard tackle, no secondary motion, just a hard bring down and from what I could tell there was no head impact. The two tackles should not be seen in the same light.

That said, this is the AFL so who can tell? 🤷‍♂️

I've been calling for this for two years and basically have been flamed by most on this board, every time..

When he comes in and becomes that creative, highly skilled missing link. I'd like to say to you board......Sit and rotate. Love AE 😘😘😘

(Not directed at you CM)

My concern with Ryan coming off half back would be his ability to defend, in particular whether he can maintain his concentration for a full game as a defender

You can sort of get away with flashing in and out of the game as a forward. Less so when you’re in the backline

That said I like that we’re trialling it

Brockman a pressure was great. Use of the ball was quality and a couple of great knock ons really helped. 100% stays in

Ryan in if fit enough for the position they want to play him in. Really hope we can see if he can make it at hbf.

For mine, I am putting him on the watchlist. I wouldnt be dropping him yet.

I personally want to see him on the scoreboard, or provide extra creativity with some assists. Also, I want to see more pressure acts from him.

I would argue if we had a full side, and Ryan/Hewett is fit would Brockman keep his place with his current form or would Long/Cripps be pushed the 2nd's?

Jamo only an in if the big hamburger gets a run (plodding) for the purples.

Was only against the crippled Tiggers, but it showed that run, spread and pace is what will keep us in it for a length of time against Freo (particularly when they have 18 player's in our fwd fifty).

Can barely bring myself to say it, but Rotham stepping up is going to be critical to our chances with his height/kicking.

If you can't cover ground with pace then no deal this week, which counts Sheed out (please).
Rotham hasn’t been perfect as he’s slightly over kicked on a couple of occasions but his game has improved and he is getting back to his early form. He should stay in the side

Sheed stays in the WAFL. Didn't watch it and don't really care tbh. He's proved over the last three years his unwillingness to chase, tackle and play team footy. Unless i hear he's smashing it in from those that watch he can stay in the 2s.

I don’t think it’s lack of wanting to tackle although I do agree that at times he turned up to a game, and decided it wasn’t worth it that day.

But that aside, he is extremely flat footed and unless he is already on a move, he is a witches hat for about 0.5s or so. That’s metres in afl. Opposition player is gone.

There was a part of me that thought Ryan went to HB to get some extra miles in the legs without the real temptation to contest up forward.

He’s such an X factor though- if he’s close to fitness I think he plays and Maric maybe goes back for a full run. Freo are strong defensively and we will need to take our chances when we get them. Liam is 100% one that can do that.

Edwards concussed means a spot for Trew or, perhaps Johnston, although I think that he is probably still a couple of weeks away.

Yeah I'd be wanting Sheed to put up Macrae-like numbers in the WAFL before bringing him back in - he's the type that may be worth it at AFL level when confidence is up and he's 100% but until then don't want him near the side. Ryan you'd think would need another week.

Would be going Jamo for Witho
And Johnston for Edwards - bit more like-for-like than Trew and watching the WAFL (admittedly only caught a half) he looked really impressive, don't mind if he's the sub or on a wing and not expected to get a heap of touches, would be good to give him a taste of it.

Would love for Hall to be coming in in a few weeks after a solid block of WAFL fitness - on balance we need another bull in there, Harley and Yeo were awesome but will be battered down if they're at every centre bounce, need them playing out the full year.

Jamo has had a few blemishes but he has also done a fair chunk of good work. People forget he is quite new to being a defender and like alot of our gun defenders bar Mcgovern looked second rate when they started. With Gov and Tb injury probe and at their back end, I’d rather get games into him than Rotham who despite his height can’t play tall.

Yeah agreed - this being a development year I'd also be giving higher than usual priority to the 'discovery' side of selection, in this case exploring whether we can with confidence consider Jamo a developing but confirmed KPD list balance wise.

Will I suspect influence a fair bit of our list management strategy across both trading and drafting - HEdwards feels pretty unlikely at this stage so we're light as for key defenders - do we chase one or two though?

On this basis would want to see Jamo in as much as possible - will benefit our off-field management in knowing more about him than if we waste time rucking him in the WAFL

Yeah our backline stocks are quite bleak. Bazzo been injured for an eternity and Hedwards done a rotham by looking good early on and then taking two million steps backwards

I think Ryan will play if he recovers from the WAFL game unscathed, Simmo has mentioned a few times that Liam has been getting a few 12 .5 kms runs in , in the lead up to this WAFL game last week..

I think Ryan is the level of player that comes straight in when fit enough.

However only the match committee will know his numbers and what sort of minutes he's able to compete for.

Bring him in if he doesn't need too much bench time, if not another week in the WAFL. Kind of impossible for us to know.

Being gassed at the end of a WAFL game doesn't mean much without knowing how long he was on and how he was moving.

“He’s a Trigg boy, he catches barrels, he belongs in the backline”

Man that was an all time presser from TB 🤣🤣

Will be interesting to see how Ryan pulls up, if he’s not too sore I think he’ll come in. Hall and in particular Johnston did some nice things today, hopefully they aren’t far away. Also looking forward to Burgiel putting some heat on the HBF spot whilst kicking 9 goals from D50.
Ryan was on managed minutes in the wafl and he still struggled with fitness .
I could only see him coming in as the sub.
He would be better off playing 3 to 4 weeks in the wafl especially if his positional change to the backline is permanent .
He looked really good in defence with his offensive kicking .

What's with all these 'Sheed-back-into-the-22' suggestions?

Was I the only one who really enjoyed yesterday's defensive pressure?

Am I the only one who actually watched the Sheed games the past 3 years? I mean I can't blame anyone who decided to switch off for a few seasons...
Easy. Sheed kicking inside 50 vs Kelly kicking inside 50.

lol cheers champ.

Round 1; 9 disposal and 0 goals
Round 2 12 disposals and 1 point
Round 3; 7 disposals and sub (concussion
Round 4; DNP
Round 5; 10 disposals and 1 point

My point is, he isnt really lighting the world on fire....and maybe a natural swap with Ryan.
Players of type tend to be complementary. Increasing forward half dynamism could easily bring Brockman into the game.

It's also not a very easy role to play.

There is sheed the outside mid winger who has a decent tank and a lazer left foot who who make our team better .

What we have had recently is inside mid sheed whos lack of pace and his defensive efforts are a liability.

If he comes in and gets no centre bounces I'm all for it .

Pretty happy with petch being the change up in the centre

Edwards is rated highly internally and will likely take the zone off defensive role assuming he can get his body right.

Neither Edwards or Bazzo have had any continuity over the last two seasons, when they probably had the biggest opportunities to impose themselves and pick up the game at the highest level. Only experience at AFL level can educate talk defenders.

We should certainly draft another KPD this year if the opportunity arises.
