Yeah I’m a bit concerned about the mental health of this forum following the derby now that we’ve all got our hopes up after last weekend. Freo will be looking for blood and our players will be feeling pretty chuffed with themselves (deservedly so).

If we put in a shift like we have the last 2 weeks I would think most would be pretty happy about starting to assemble a block of consistent effort, even if we end up getting done by 6-8 goals.

Freo's defence is in some pretty hot form so I doubt Jake will have another day out. Really interested to see if our new look midfield can match it, and for how long, with a pretty solid Freo unit. Freo's forward line is still pretty dodgy so our backs should be able to curb them if the ball is coming in under some pressure.

Most likely a couple of 5-10minute bursts by either side will decide it I think, with the odds favouring Freo as the more developed group.

We can always switch Kayo over to Rnd 5 if things get nasty

I love the smell of copium in the morning.

Look, if we can torpedo Freo's season I'll be ecstatic. I'm just saying the lid is well and truly on for me in terms of results. We have had 2 good weeks and we'll no doubt have some backward steps along the way. Might be this week but hopefully not.

Look mate I agree, I'm just talking rubbish as usual. Haven't you read enough posts from me by now to know this?

Mate, we're only two games outside the 8, finals a possibility here, surely.

Sheeda did say he played more inside at WAFL on the weekend and his intention is to more closely correlate his WAFL role to his AFL role. If he comes in, he's going to want to play in the guts.

I'd prefer him to directly take Edwards role and leave the midfield operating as it is. If the game goes sideways and we need a different look then sure, he's a mature body we could put in there, but if he lines up in the square for the first bounce I'd be pretty disappointed. Run the wing, get that left peg doing damage.

When I look at the Freo line up the names hardly scream "scary"

They just have been working well as a team

On paper even the last 3 years our side looks decent but paper is for wiping butts.

Their backline needs to be held accountable. Need some guys to lock the ball down there better. It comes out fairly easily.

Midfield battle will be fun to watch for sure.

Here's hoping for a classic derby

Coming off 2 losses in a row, one they claim was stolen at the last minute.
We know what to expect, all guns blazing, should be a cracker!
I don't expect to win this, it might show us where we really are in context, by how much we lose and the fight we put up.
But a win would be sensational!!!

I don’t think it’s lack of wanting to tackle although I do agree that at times he turned up to a game, and decided it wasn’t worth it that day.

But that aside, he is extremely flat footed and unless he is already on a move, he is a witches hat for about 0.5s or so. That’s metres in afl. Opposition player is gone.
not to mention his ability to kill momentum with his indecisiveness with the ball. I watched the whole game V East Fremantle and a number of times when West Coast were flowing nicely it got to Sheed and he stood there for seconds looking for options.

There is more pressure on them to win this! And they are a team that could stuff this up.

If he does play inside he has to line up at HFF or on a wing at CBD’s and then he can move into the middle. I’ve never seen a midfielder thats as bad is him at CBD’s but then turns him self into peak Matt Priddis at stoppages

Don't want him near the team. Sorry, Sheeda, thanks for 2018, but WAFL is your level now.

Is Tom Cole safe?

He's been dreadful this year.

While I'm not sold on Sheed coming back into the team, he'd be replacing Edwards who is injured and who has basically been getting selected based on a single good game, 3 years ago. Edwards is out of contract at the end of this year, and I haven't seen much evidence to suggest he'll get extended.
