He should contest Medium impact. Should be low. I agree two week should be ok, but the system is rigged.

Consistency is what the MRP lacks.

I know that in future games, similar incidents will occur and it will be :-

No case to answer

Fine

One week

This season, the MRP had the chance to put a tough stamp on the season with Cunnington, ..... they were impotent.

Fair enough.

Just don’t throw fists, some players are slow learners.

Absolutely. I have no issue with this. Stupid action from a player trying to establish his place in the side.

Dusty sets the precedent for this being appealed down to one week - which is important for consistency, but that is the only reason for it deserving of being reduced to one.

Why rest Brayshaw!!!! he is performing his role given to him by the coaching staff.Make no mistake , he will not go back to Peel.He is going ok.As good as Cerra.
Maybe a change will be Darcy in.Not sure who goes out.But the Doggies are running English as their number one ruckman. He was taken to the cleaners by Grundy recently. He could be their soft spot.Or maybe Lobb will be still used as number one and win the duel,

We probably now find ourselves in an awkward position of ‘where are we at’.

Over the last 3 years I was all about play the kids. Now? Well we have topped up with mature aged players and obviously all that previous youth have also started to cement spots that makes it awkward to just bring guys in like North, Bewley, Giro, Crowden etc.

It’s a balancing act now. You don’t want to not reward effort and performance in the lower leagues.

I understand the love for Brayshaw and Cerra but I’m not against either of those guys doing 2-3 weeks at WAFL to work on whatever. If they’re solid characters they’ll respond. We did it with Blakely, Langdon and I’m sure others.

In my opinion Cerra and Brayshaw (despite their flaws) are needed in this team for what they bring to their roles (Cerra for his ball distribution, Brayshaw for his four quarter run, pressure and tackling); not sure who is really banging down the door with an offerring above what they are already giving to justify a replacement of either at this stage.

I don't think the same mistake will be made again. During out 2012-2015 window the match committee/Ross kept the stalwarts in even if they were not in form.
I have a feeling that there will be no hesitation to drop someone out of form for youth if required. How it should have been done back then as well. It needs to be sustained now a lot of the hard work has been done.

I probably should’ve explained in greater detail as it wasn’t such a simple as how I may have put it.

Trying to keep it simple. I wouldn’t be against Brayshaw being dropped and another youngster given a game. That’s different to the past where we dropped youngsters and played guys like Suban, knowing what Suban brings.

I could handle that. I’m not saying Crowden for example will bring more than Brayshaw, but it would reward his effort and see if he can put pressure on for spots.

I’m not against anyone getting dropped really to bring in youth.

I’d love to see what Bewley, North can bring and whether Giro and Crowden etc can keep providing solid depth.

Unless they are putrid for more than one week, neither Andy or Cez are getting dropped. You don't put your top 5 picks in the WAFL. You pump games into them to get them to speed asap.

With the rest of the team it is on form until we are out of finals contention. Then you prioritise exposing the list. Clearly this year looks to be an opportunity and we should definitely have a crack.

Plenty of young players are still getting games. We still had 8 sub 50 gamers and only 7 players have played more than 100 games from the GWS game.

This is a really unpopular opinion on here but I am not sold on Brayshaw at all. I know he is only 19 but he turns the ball over a lot. I actually don't think he is good enough in the team at this stage. Come at me people.

Brayshaw has been immense getting to the ground balls, for a 19 y.o. he’s a bull. He’d be pushing 6’3 and 90kg. In A couple of years he’ll be Luke Parker around the ball, with the outside run of Hanneberry. His tackles stick he hunts the ball with quick pace. He hasn’t been disgraced this year. The kicking is off, everyone knows it, but it will come good. The mechanics look fine.

Cerra is still short of a tank, when he’s gassed his kicking goes awol, but when he’s not gassed, he’s rolled gold. I loved that Taranto tried to out muscle him and he buried him. I’m fairly sure the game was still up for grabs at that point.

There were some great one on ones late in the game which we won that won us the game. Pearce, Taberner and Cerra stood out to me. Not to mention Walters. Fyfe clearing space for Walters was epic, took two GWS mids with him.

Just did a quick compare to Coniglio and he has slightly better disposal efficiency than he does and slightly better than Brother Angus. Not quite sure where he ends up, but I would expect that his will improve, whereas theirs won't.

Some of the defense for Duman here is Gaff like.
Obviously the offense is not on the same level, but he's collected a bloke across the head and been given 2 weeks, really not that bad an outcome.
Many would argue Gaff had no intention of getting Brayshaw's jaw either, but he did, it doesn't change the fact they (Both Gaff and Duman) have intentionally swung at players off the ball (to different extents and different fist position) and collected them across the noggin.
Deserved 2 weeks and medium impact get's the punishment where it should be.

I'm not bothered by Duman's punishment but I am annoyed at the inconsistency of reasoning compared to what they used as an excuse to let others off earlier in the season.
