Indeed coulda; he will absolutely tear it up. My only concern is he does't get picked on our dilemma for speed. As great as it is having Barlow and some others in the fold they don't offer too much in the way of versatility.

Silvagni to run the blocks for Pav .
With showers forecast before the game we will want players that give strong contest as well as runners .
Suban has performed very well in these type of games so he may still make the cut.

Johnson. Crowley et all. I don't think Mundy will leave and fyfe for that matter. Barlow And Walters, we are so thin at the moment.
I'm not saying we should cut the wood and rebuild but Duffield, spurr who has dropped off big time, Dutch. We are too old with no kids coming through other than Neale.
You and Silent Alarm would get on well.

I think we're all nervous about that to be fair.

Very pleased DeBoer has been dropped, it's comforting to see Lyon isn't too stubborn to mix things up.
I agree that it's probably the right decision to drop De Boer considering his poor form of late, but it's interesting to note that De Boer has laid 12% (45 out of 378) of the Dockers tackles this season. Next best tackler is Mundy who has 24 tackles so far this year. De Boer's tackle and disposal stats this year are also above his career average so far this season.

Hannath, Sheridan & Silvagni are the likely emergencies from that group.
I wouldn't mind Silvagni coming in if Eagles go tall as usual, he can play fwd if needed too. Don't think suban will be dropped this week, but could start as sub..

I find it hilarious the ebbs and flows with opinions on players. DB has always been on the radar for many people because of his foot skills. Suban on the other hand goes from "such an important player" to "such a crab". He will probably come out get 25 disposals, 5 tackles and 2 goals and everyone will be on board again until he drops his bundle again. He has always battled with consistency, but geez he has an elite left boot when he is on. He just needs to get angry more often.

Hannath is a waste of time, he is just making up numbers at this point *has potential but not AFL yet. His defensive pressure is no good, and when this is combined with Pavlich it leaves us exposed. Clarke is the biggest disappointment for mine though, will be interesting who has the better game - Clarke or NicNat for the battle of the underachievers award. We have to persist with Clarke because we get these glimpses of contested marks good tap work, then he goes absent. Frustrating!

Suban will play.

Ibbo must definitely by a fitness/injury thing. Maybe they dont want to risk his shoulder and it starts swelling or something.
Or maybe he is just not ra

Is it opposites day or something. Fyfe is 22. Sutty, Crozier and Sheridan get regular games. Simpson, Hannath and Tabs show promise. And Mora was great for a season and is about to come back into the side. That doesn't even include the boys who are still younger than 24.

Thought he needed to go earlier this year but Suban also IMHO

Happy that Croz has been left in the squad, would be great if he could be given a string of games while son-son is out, and see what he can do.
With you there.

I think you answered your own question there but for mine I am not a fan because he is so inconsistent

I think Suban will given that they have only really listed talls to go in for him. And RTB tends to go like for like. Disappointed though.

With you on the under performing Clarke/Hannath situation. Hannath though need exposure more than anything. Clarke, given his experience in the biggs, should be doing better, no excuse IMHO.

Would make things interesting. Could bring crozier into the forward line as another lead and mark threat to replace a little of what mayne provides.

could be a pretty dangerous forward line with mayne and crozier as mid size, neale and balla as smalls, clarke/hannath and pav as the talls... with the resting onballers rotating thru. A little less defensive pressure with mdb not there, but more teeth.

Or it could be as simple as suban getting a run as a defensively minded forward.

Croz nearly matched MTB for tackles last game, I think given time that Croz could match MTB for tackles and forward pressure while still providing a scoring threat. I love mtb's pressure but he's not a very prolific scorer whereas IMO Croz could do both.

I don't think croz could match de boer's pressure or tackling. He was the best in the afl last year for forward half tackles, and well up there for pressure acts. Different frame. Different mindset.

But I can believe croz could shrink the gap enough to make the extra attacking opportunities he can provide, worth the drop in forward pressure we have without de boer.

What a load of crap.

He doesn't drop his bundle. He is ordinary. The occasional good game doesn't diminish that.

Just on MDB - I find the argument about his tackling numbers almost superficial.
The reason being this is the assigned role of a defensive HFF.
For those that want to ignore his scoring deficiencies but talk about his defensive work, isn't it obvious that his defensive stats are going to reflect better than the rest of the team given he has instruction to be the first in for tackling, blocking, bodywork around packs....
It's fair to assume that's the instruction given to Matt, so with his licence to tackle and pressure of course those numbers will be high.

What we are yet to see is whether anyone else can replicate this in the defensive HFF role compared to MDB's output and whether they can achieve a higher output for scoring stats simultaneously.

I'm a borderline MDB follower - I'm more of the mindset we don't need his role at times given we already play 1 strict lockdown role in Crowley. With a defensive gameplan and a 2 strictly defensive players it leaves us, well, quite defensive.
