Seriously though, if Dawson and MJ go out who is going to play in defence on Kennedy (196cm), Cox (203 cm), Natanui (200cm) and Darling (190cm). The tallest player would be McPharlin at 194cm. Look what happened to Hawthorn and that was really only one tall (Hawkins) not 4+ talls.

Don't worry mate all our talls will jump at the ball and pretty much spoil each other and all you guys need to do is pick up the loose ball and run it down for a goal

If MJ and Dawson go then Silvagni should come in and Clarke should be played down back. Sounds silly but Eagles are too tall and we need defenders to play on Cox, Natanui, Kennedy and Darling. Then, if Hannath not suspended he comes in or if he is then Tabener. I think we are in trouble on this one

Of course we would be in deep pooh. Our main hope would be that the WC over do it add even more giants to their forward line. We would bring in Silvagni for sure, but after that I would consider adding either of Bradley or Morabitto. Neither are really ready, but realistically we would be disparate. After that I would be hoping for something amazing to happen, like decent umpiring.

Would actually put money on wce if this happened.

See Clarke in the away Adelaide game last year. Made some incredible saving marks down back...

Then again that was 2013.

After our loss to Sydney a 'Changes' thread appeard in about 2 seconds, with mass calls for wholesale changes to the side.

It doesn't happen.

The only changes made will be necessary/minimal changes - we just don't drop 6 players at a time on form anymore. Maybe that's at least one saving grace for some of our second tier players, if they collectively play like shit there's a lower chance of drawing the short straw.

This is why speculation on changes threads are typically such a shambles until at least Wednesday. We need to Monday to find out who's getting the knife from the MRP and tues to get a better understanding of the injury list.

If Johnson and Dawson get suspended than it's simply going to be Ibbo, Silvagni and Ballantyne in. If they're fine then maybe there'll be extra room for Suban/Sheridan/De Boer to make way for someone new.

Did Ibbotson play on the weekend? If so, how was he. Did he mark with his hands fully stretched?

Although it didn't seem like it, we were leading throughout most of the 1st three quarters against North and only lost by two odd goals. This is good news, considering we were playing horrible! It was a position we could have (but didn’t) come back from.

The Eagles will lift, given their close loss to Carlton, however I think we should get over the line in a close one. Given no suspensions I suspect only one change:
Ballaz with one of the other underperforming youngsters (Neale/Suttcliffe/Crozier/Sherian).
Perhaps Ibbo to come in for one of them as well. SNOS to replace Dawson/Johno if one is suspended (hopefully only reprimands though).

As Ibbo didn't play unless he trains out of his skin during the week or we loose two defenders to suspension then he should not play. He needs at least one WAFL games where he spoils and marks above his head.

Only change is Ballas in. I am going to say for de Boer, but it could be for any of 5 players who all played poorly.

Sylvia is available as well but his selection not likely due to being unable to play any games recently. I'd however like to see him come in.

Just bite the bullet with him and get him into the side.

He needs to play good back to back games in the WAFL before he is considered.

I know it would be nice to have him in the side now, but we do need him playing consistent football when he plays for Fremantle.

You can bring him in with strict KPI's however. Say he takes De Boers spot and just tell him anything less than 6-7 tackles and however many pressure acts is a fail, and you will find yourself in the WAFL again. That's his only job he has to worry about, pure defensive. Inevitably the ball will come to him at some stage, and I trust his boot much more than De Boers. So if he can match De Boers defensive output, he will exceed him offensively through sheer talent difference.

Not the worst idea, if his fitness was sufficient then I would say yes.

I would like to see Sheridan play a full game, he has done so well in the WAFL and think he deserves one full game.

I agree with this, he really hasn't in his career to this point been given a few weeks of successive consistent oppurtunity without being given that stupid bloody vest.

Ross Lyon has every right to be furious with the club. Players getting reported in both AFL and WAFL on a regular basis. After Fyfe's suspension you'd think that'd be it for reports as Ross was clearly angry, yet we've had about 5 more since then. Get your crap together freo, this is getting ridiculous.

Johnson with a reprimand and free to play :thumbsu:
Rather lucky methinks. I've always regarded targeting a player leaving the ground under duress as an ethically challenged act. Call me old-fashioned or whatever.

Anyway at least we got a break at last. Feeling a lot better about this week now.

Ins : Ibbotson and Taberner
Outs : De Boer and Suban.
