You need to lighten up. You are in a small minority of supporters now. No good getting upset about people wanted to see the end of Buckley asap, because there are too many of us now.
I’m not upset at all mate. And am very happy to be in the Big Footy minority.

A player who could still end up facing a negative outcome on the sort of criminal charges he is facing would have to be an issue for a club trading said player in given the commitment they (the club) would be making to said player.

The playing group is constantly lectured about their behavior and the need to stay out of trouble etc. So Treloar and Phillips, who have caused no problems get traded out for a fraction of their worth and DeGoey stays and gets a big pay rise. Now I am not anti keeping Goo, high end talent but when things start to go bad, these sort of things become issues.

Club is an utter mess.

15 of the 22 that played in that Grand Final are still at the club.

Roughead is a more than capable replacement for Goldsack.

Moore is better than Langdon.

Quaynor is as capable as Varcoe.

Phillips, Treloar, Stephenson and Aish are gone. No one rated Aish, Phillips was a one trick pony and Stephenson was a first year player.

They are similar teams - apart from age and the loss of Treloar - and yet significantly different in output.

Why?
Aish Was rated just the salary cap.... Phillips stayed aish went..then the real shit hit the fan...
A cluster ****....

Surely the list managers are allover McKay and Weideman at the moment, enticing one of them to come across next year. If not, the list management team should be escorted out of the Holden centre!!
Who do we offer up that would be suitable to Carlton/Melbourne in return? We have no picks to sweeten the deal

I haven't seen the game (and never will now) but I take it Moore was ineffectual up forward and Thomas had what 2 possessions till 1/2 time was it?

Is anyone surprised?

Well the coach would be it would seem.

Honestly Moore is the reigning AA CHB. He spent the summer once again training as a defender. It's been reported it's his preferred position. Given our predicament it's fair to say the ball is going to be spending more time in our defensive 50 than forward half for the remainder of the season so doesn't it make more sense to place him in the position where he can influence far more contests than the 5 he did today.

Thomas kicked 38 goals from 26 games in 2018. He still managed 22 from 22 in 2019. He's kicked 6 in the last 21 games.

How he continues to be selected on the back of that diminishing output is a mystery to me. At 29 it's likely his best has now come and gone. Time for a kid to take his spot like a Rantall or Henry.

What qualifies a team for a priority pick? 😂

We now realistically could win the wooden spoon. Who would have thought after playing in a grand final in '18, preliminary final in '19 and our finals win over the WC in Perth last year, we would be in this position as the worst side in the competition with North. Talk about a fall from grace, with a bullet!!

And its all self inflicted.

Fair point. But I dont think JDG got a pay rise at the end of 2020? Wasn't it 2019? Anyway, his career is going down the toilet at the moment. No new pay rise looming for him and I'm not sure many other clubs would be interested now. He needs to turn his form around - urgently. I'm also not sure about his fitness ATM, and I'm not suggesting he has a niggle. Is he working hard enough?

yep people were leaving just minutes into the final quarter, never seen so many people leave while we were still within 5 goals and plenty of time left
Yes but by that stage we needed 5 goals to win and we had only kicked 5 goals in over 3 quarters. Only GCS putting the cue in the rack late made the result look closer than what it was

The club needs to make some tough decisions with some players. We require a key forward, and a clearance mid, what needs to go in order to achieve this the club needs to decide. I'm looking at players like Crisp, Sidebottom, Sier, DeGoey. I think its a given players like Thomas, WHE, Mayne, Greenwood won't be playing at the Pies beyond this year.

In the meantime the architect of this debacle, Eddie Maguire (he was entirely responsible for Beams which created the cap disaster) , is mouthing off about irrelevances like the Port Prison Bars stripes as if he is still the President and as if this is the biggest issue at Collingwood. Just crawl back into your hole Eddie, youre not the boss any more.

I've gone from wearing my karl Lagerfelds ted bakers gino rossis to games.. to wearing your generic types julius Marlow and aquila and sh*t like that.. now I'm thinking of just going to the north game with a pair of crocs or possibly even bare foot..

I've had it man.. I'm done.

Pics of the Gimp's glorious, precisely-manicured, angel-kissed feet in crocs in next week's post-game thread please.

What’s the point in not sacking him right now?

Because you'd be handing over the reigns to either Harvs or Sando?

Any coach we'd potentially be happy with long term probably isn't available right now 7 games into the season and with football leagues around the country also having kicked off their seasons.

Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side, until it actually is.

I'm not even gonna comment on the coach, if you think we lost today because of poor coaching or strategy then you're blind.

That was one of the more gutless performances I've seen from a playing group in my 31 years of supporting this club. No try, want or semblance of ever wanting to be out there all day.

Darcy Moore, we know you're a back, you're playing forward and that was like watching a 13 y.o. chucking a tantrum today the way he went about it. Mihochek wins the ball on the wing, Moores man leaves him so all he has to do is sprint forward and he's having a shot on goal. He jogged the entire time.

Give Buckley 2 years, tell the playing group if they don't like it, they can f*** right off.
It was absolutely poor coaching. The reason no one took the game on was because Collingwood played exactly like Carlton did the two weeks before we fired Bolton. Buckley has lost the playing group, they want him gone. Move him out now so you can show FA’s that you still have the talent and return to finals next year.
