just when you think you've escaped they drag you back in...

ok if you are want my brutal honesty I think there is a fair chunk of the current list that won't be around in 2 to 3 years while Lyon probes for the team he thinks are capable of reaching a GF...and so I'm still of the firm belief Sharman will be cut at seasons end.

damn you Mowman...I was trying to avoid your tractor beam.
Tractor is too advanced for our resident grass clipping extraordinaire

Just watched his interview with Cal Twomey on AFL site and he speaks extraordinarily well for a youngster. I get Daicos/Walsh/Bont vibes off him with the handles himself in the media. I noticed it during the post match interview with Sarah yesterday. Got a good sense of humour too.

Two have to make way for Caminiti and King IMO so it's those two. Especially Membrey, he was shocking.
Membrey will be better as third forward. I liked what he showed but why does Caminiti come in automatically? Hasn’t played anywhere in three weeks? I’d stick with Sharman. Very much doubt they’ll drop him after last game.

Skunk was very good in the first quarter of his first game back, but has been 2020-like ever since, so on performance he honestly should be the one to make way for either Max or Hammer.

Would be a big call to drop him, but Sharman was much better than he’s generally been going. If we bring back both Max and Hammer they probably won’t have much choice though. Both Tim and Coops will go.

Will be a big call.

Honestly unless Skunk is right at his best he’s now pretty much surplus to requirements, if everyone else is fit and available, as we now have Owens and to a lesser extent Pou who are that medium sized guy who can clunk marks, plus we also have Wood who we can swing up there, so we’re probably better off with the two much taller guys in Max and Hammer, the two medium-talls in Owens and Pou, and then the midget-brigade.

Unless Skunk is right back to his best, which he clearly isn’t right now.
I’d prefer Membrey out and replaced by Sharman and Billings as a the third tall.
Membreys defensive pressure is poor and his just not dynamic with his field kicking and agility.
Very slow footy brain as well.
Not sure he should get a contract beyond 2024.

I think Steele plays his best when he's carrying some muscle in his arms and shoulders. He looks quite thin now, I wonder if that is impacting his game.

I remember Joel Selwood saying a couple of years ago that Steele had the hardest body in the AFL and was difficult to play against.
Ross told him to drop weight. Blame Ross ‘A bloke you don’t really want to let down’: Saints skipper opens up on Ross Lyon’s ‘demanding’ yet inspiring coaching approach

People conveniently forget that if Caminiti wasn't suspended he'd still be in the team.

If King doesn't play then its Caminiti for Sharman ( oh dear lifes tough!!) but the fact is that you don't pick a team with 10 forwards simply because they all played well the previous week.

Can't play all of King/Caminiti, Sharman, Phillipou, Membrey and Owens in the same side

And despite what people say, Membrey is a way better player than Sharman and has proved it year on year.

If King is fit then it becomes even tougher to pick the forward 6.

Earn your spot, you want to get suspended for three weeks and let the team down, come back through the seconds, someone has taken your place.

Have to agree- we shouldn't gift games to young first year players who lose their cool and get rubbed out. A run in the VFL is required

Have been a big Membrey fan since he joined the club but have noticed a downward trajectory in his form over the past 2 years. He is slow and one dimensional and doesn’t suit the quick game style RTB is trying to introduce.
Sharman surprised and showed versatility in his game. He is also taller than Tim and can provide ruck back up. Tim is much loved but is, unfortunately, from a different era. I would like to be proven wrong. I would give Tim one more chance, in a forward set up which includes King.

It would be a very harsh call to drop Sharman after that game. I thought he was in our best half a dozen in the ground.

19 disposals, 9 marks, 9 contested possessions, 6 score involvements, 1 goal 2 behinds.

I think if we are playing King deep forward than Sharman is a good option as any to play higher up the ground.
Agree -reckon they are grooming Sharman for that wood type role-has very good endurance

Excellent endurance, Jason Blake type tank. His preseason running drills was eye opening.
Would finish 10 to 20 metres ahead of his group all the time.
At the end he would be started 20 metres behind the group and finish 10 metres ahead.
Elite endurance.

I would play Sharman next week , playing back in his home state could really unleash and could easily be rotated through forward line / wing - can't see them dropping Membery and it has to be remembered he has really only played 3 games this season and will only benifit from more games under his belt.
Steele to me is the guy that needs to lift and Ross could be winding him up for this game against the Crows , knowing he played him forward and never having any impact on the game at all.

Who we leave out this week is going to be interesting if King comes back , but if he can play he plays seniors because we need a marking / leading target and even without game time he is our best option.

Could we finally see Owens given a key role in the midfield when King is brought back in.
Sharman is NSW born and bred.

I think Tim worked well under Richo as a key forward target playing deep, but to me he seemed to lose effectiveness when King came along in the same forward line, and is not as agile playing up the ground. I would be a bit surprised to see King come straight back considering the amount of footy he has missed- maybe a run at Sandy first, and if his body holds up, then he will come back in. It will be an interesting juggle between Membrey, Caminiti and Sharman for positions.

I like this but I can't see Skunk getting dropped.

He'll come good.

Skunk still has one of the highest top speeds in the club. Correct me if I'm wrong but he'd hasn't once done the infamous 'stop & wait 20 secs' before disposing of it since he's been back. He's cooked a few F50 entries but they've been more skill errors that decision making (except of course for the pass to Butts when he was 30m out). Lacking confidence that will swing quickly once he gets on the end of a few.

He's out of form no doubt but writing him off as yesterday's hero is very very premature IMO.

It was great to see Sharmo back & contributing like he did. He certainly gives us another option if Maso is a bit sore (reckon his shoulder is still troubling him)
