Re: Round 12 Trades

Alrite, got it all worked out with a 3 trade two week plan.

This week
Maguire >>> Rookie

Next Week
Martin >>> Ablett/Montagna
Hitchcock >>> Ryan O'Keefe
Im assuming that Martin's price will go up this week (breakeven 35) and Ablett will go down this week (breakeven 157). If Ablett doesnt go down by enough then i might go Martin to Montagna. Thoughts?

Re: Round 12 Trades

I like 2, and 5 if you have about 10 trades left and need cash. 3 is pretty good as well. I don't mind 1 if Trengove is on the field and I'm assuming you had Hille if he is. Not a fan of 4 this year but I could be wrong.

I have 13 left. Fyfe and Rockliff should ensure my cashola situation is OK later in the season.

Thanks again

Re: Round 12 Trades

Maguire > Rookie
Martin > Montagna

Will give me around 200k in the bank as well.

I have cover in the form of Webberley in the backline for the week and next week I will most likely upgrade Davis (depending on how long he is out for) to a premium.

Yes, No?

EDIT:

Or Maguire > Gilbert and try chase Montagna in a few weeks?

Re: Round 12 Trades

what are peoples thoughts on my situation (10 trades left, only 5k cash)
maguire injured - trengrove and silvagni on the bench
hille injured - no cover
gumbleton starting in forward line which is my only extreme weak point in my team
was thinking trading lucas off my bench for gysberts, hille to maric
then next week hitchcock for a bench player and gumbleton for a 550k forward line player

Re: Round 12 Trades

which combo is best?

shaw/hille/chappy
or
gilbee/sandi/rockliff

leaning toward the first option

Re: Round 12 Trades

What do we do about Gysberts hmmm. Named on extended bench, but we don't find out team till Saturday.

As said the only chance he won't play is if he is injured. He was nominated for the Rising Star this week I doubt he'll be dropped.

Re: Round 12 Trades

Excellent. Nason comes off bench for Maguire. Skipper for Hille and Hitchcock gets the E.

saving trades this week, very happy

I'm very happy with Hitchcock being named as well. I'm a bit light on in the back half thanks to Maguire out injured and Hargrave not recovering in time but like you have Nason as cover as well as Shepard.

Still making trades though but will wait until tomorrow like always.

Wells > Gysberts
Seaby > Sandilands :thumbsu:

Re: Round 12 Trades

anyone else like Angus Graham for the Tiges. Now that Simmonds is gone, might be his chance to step up. Average is over 100 for 4 games and under 400k......ive got trades left so might take a punt and get that extra point of difference im after, and if it backfires then there is always Sandilands in the future......thoughts...?

I've only got 6 left, so i wanted to hold off for a week or two before Maguire comes back and i upgrade Nason for Gilbee or Scotland.

Other than Nason, Skipper and Rockliff, my team is excellent :)

Re: Round 12 Trades

Howlett to Gysberts.

Can't quite afford Chappy for Medhurst, though I'm thinking he has to get injured soon anyway. It's a certainty. If not, he will be rested for finals.

So I can get any other forward for Medhurst, leaning towards Didak. Seems to have turned a corner with tags.

Otherwise I can swap Maguire for any defender other than Lake [already have Hodge and Goddard], and avoid playing Nason.

I have the same problem, except instead of trading medhurst I'm finally pulling the pin with gray. Its out of buddy or diddles. I have already got rid of howlett to gysberts and have 9 trades left. My team is:

Backs: Goddrad, Hodge, Malceski, Gilbert, Shaw, Harbrow, Waters (webberly, davis)
Mids: Montagna, Barlow, Selwood, Pendlebury, Cooney, Squibbs (gysberts, shuey)
Rucks: Sandi, Natanui (warnock, lobbe)
Fwds: Pav, Brown, ROK, Goodes, J-Pod, Gray, Bazza (fyfe, gumby)

Hopefully next week with 200 k i will be able to go Gibbs to Gazza. Thoughts on this or should i worry about any other players?

Re: Round 12 Trades

OK I usualy don't ask for help but I'm realy stuck on this one guys. Should I go NicNat to Anrgy Angus Graham or isn't it worth it? I have 8 trades left and Nicnat is my worst player in the 22. The way I see it is I already have Sandi and the only other ruck worth having is Cox who is alot more expensive and averaging more that 10 pts less.

I could a) bring in Graham and hope he is a keeper for the rest of the year
b) Bring in Cox and hope he gets back to being the No1 ruck he was
or c) do nothing and watch Grahams price rise to his true worth

Thoughts?

Buddy is too inconsistent for me, not to mention all the suspensions. Dids has seemed to learn how to deal with a tag and has been playing mostly midfield, so gets alot of the ball.

My problem at the moment is Defence.
I'm thinking about one of 2 options, either:

1) P.Davis to a rook and upgrade M.Maguire to H.Scotland

or

2) L. Jetta to Gysberts and Maguire to Malceski (or some1 else around the 450k mark, but malceski seems like the best value), davis can sit on the bench for a bit

option 1 deals with both injuries and gets me a pretty good defender

option 2 has the potential to get me more money so i can deal with my forwards later. However I already have kennelly so i'm reluctant to go with another swan in def

I have 9 trades left

Of course there is always

option 3) something i haven't thought of yet :p

Any opinions on which way I should go?

If it's not NicNat to Cox, I wouldn't bother. The real comparison for Cox is after Round 4, when he was back to full fitness and game time. Including that 119, since then he's been averaging 103 with a lowest score of 81. I really don't trust that Graham can keep those scores up without a stretch in the 70s and 80s which will drag his average right back down.

Re: Round 12 Trades

Lots of questions centred around the ruck this week. I need to offload Hille and am looking at rucks under 400k to free up some cash and to possibly give my team a more unique player.

Who looks the best out of the following, taking into account price and like likeliness to play out the rest of the season?

Angus Graham: 389k - 102 Avg (4 games)
Mitch Clark: 381k - 70 Avg (8 games)
Maric: 371k - 80 Avg (10 games)
H-Mac: 361k - 75 Avg (9 games)

I guess Graham looks to be the most obvious, but I don't know much about him whereas Clark and H-Mac have proven themselves in previous seasons and could be looking at a big back end of the season? Hmm...

I might go Jolly.... yes I know Pies game plan have changed....

+1. I'm not a fan on using trades on rucks at the best of times, but certainly not if includes anybody other than Messrs Sandilands & Cox. Graham does look tempting, but it's a huge gamble IMO at this time of season, to gamble on an a) ruckman, b) a relatively unproven one at that, and c) a player who is no certainty to even outscore the bloke he's replacing (NicNat)

I'd be forking out the extra coin for Cox.

Re: Round 12 Trades

Gotta go Pav. I wouldnt think twice.

Agree, although with a BE of 142 he'll probably be cheaper next week.

I have dilemmas all round. Balla being a spud on the w/e has left me about 5k short of Chappy, which wouldn't be a huge issue b/c Nason has peaked but this rounds team listings haven't shown me who, if anyone, might be a worthwhile downgrade for him. And then there's whether to hold Maguire or upgrade him.

Re: Round 12 Trades

I've decided to hold onto Maguire, even for at least a week and see how he goes next week if his making a full recovery or if the injury looks worse than what it is. I have Shepperd as D8 & Webberley D9 who's looking to provide good cover for Maguire in his absence.

I'm going for overall ranking and still pondering what to do with Hille. My bench is Warnock & Lobbe, and Sandilands is my primary ruckman. With 6 trades left, should i play out the donut or grab Cox/Kreuzer?
