There may be some advantage in moving up at the elite end of the draft, but it's a still huge mind job that they'd agree to that trade with their local rival.

Their salary cap must be bursting thanks to Crazy Vossy's 2009 trade period.

GC are pricks to exploit them like that with the AFL's blessing.

They must have offered Brennan a heap of money to move.

What do people think of a straight swap Walker for Carlisle? Carlisle a solid full back without being spectacular but is prob as good a young full back out there who we could realistically target

Walker seems more and more likely to go to Port fro what I'm reading

Would love this but Port will not let Alipate go. He is a VERY underated defender and Port and their supporters know how reliable he is. Would take the trade in 1 second flat if Port offered Carlisle.

+1. Def strengthen our backline but prob at to much of a cost to the Powers' defence for them to consider it.

Carlisle has as much chance as being traded as Kreuzer does for us which is 0%

The reason I threw up the Walker for Carlisle trade is cos I honestly think Port have enough KP backman, ie Trengove, Chaplin, Salter can play key back, I just think they could forgo one of them for Walker who would create a bit of run off half back for them, something they clearly lack

Doubt it will happen though

My uncle's, cousin's, best mate's, girl friend's, hair dresser's, sister's, gardiner's, mother's, toy boy's, dog walker reckons all these rumours are just a lot of shite.

Sorry but I believe that if he doesn't decide to play for St. Kilda next year then he's going to retire.

I call BS! :D

Ladson on the table
"The rumours that may be circulating that he's looking to change clubs might be a little strong," Pelchen said.

"It's more a case of we've had discussions with his management along the lines of if there are enquiries about Rick we will let his management know."

Captain Carlton will ring you if we are considering anyone to see if it meets with your seal of approval prior to doing any deals!

I hate this type of conditional supporter.. not liking Motlop? Fine, withdrawing your support if the club thought he would be a good pickup is pathetic! Griggstyle!

Let's just say Stephen Milne would probably be considered a 'better bloke' than this guy. ;)

Sorry, I can't support the culture that this guy brings to a club, and NO, it has nothing to do with his being Aboriginal in the slightest.

We got rid of Fev last season for a reason.

Matt Rendell says Crows' pick 33 on table for Sam Jacobs but Blues yet to agree to deal. Jon Griffin likely to go to Freo

Looks like it's a stalemate. Add in a player and I'd consider it.

l believe Carlton will be willing to let Jacobs go the PSD if pick 33 is the best offer, as this is not worth much in this draft, more than likely there will be a compromise either Jacobs & Blues 2nd round pick 36 for Adelaide pick 14 or alternatively a deal involving Talia or Mckernan, otherwise let him take his chances in the PSD highly unlikely he would get to Adelaide.

Who is this Talia Or McKernan kid? I seem to be hearing a lot about him this trade week

Talia is a young key position player who can play forward or back, and he was drafted by the Crows with pick 13 in the 2009 draft. He was linked to Carlton prior to the draft, and from what I can remember and what I read in his player profile, he is regarded as having a big tank for a player his size, and strong and clean hands. I'd really like us to land him if we can.

He was only linked to Carlton through social networks i.e. Bigfooty Talking Carlton and the media (due to our obvious need in a key position player especially a CHB). He was never in our sights as a draft prospect, in fact had we had pick 11 (McLean pick) and pick 12, we still would not have taken Talia.

People in the know understand that Talia's body shape will not allow him to take on the monster CHF (Cloke, Brown etc) and is more suited to playing on players in the Riewoldt mold.

At this stage from what ive been told, we are chasing pick 14 + McKernan for Jacobs and Grigg pick from Tigers or our 2nd round pick 36. Pick 18 at this stage ala Brennan deal is in now way in the equation.

"Whether that's a draft pick or a player for player swap ... my read on it all is he played the last nine or 10 games this season but didn't get opportunities early in the season.

"Basically he's at a stage in his career where four years in he's come through a draft with other midfielders like Travis Boak and Joel Selwood, who he played with at Vic Country, who have played 80-odd games.

"Shaun wants to go somewhere where he's going to play every week and he's looking for an opportunity hopefully at Richmond."

Petroro also said the fact that three players wanted to leave Carlton was not an indication of a problem at the club and more a reflection of the Blues' depth.
