When Ken finally leaves Alberton, Gerard will probably devote a whole program to "one of the great coaches."
Whateley will push the "poor Kenny, he's a genius but Port Power supporters never accepted him" line.

Despite the fact we used to get around in "Yes We Ken" T-Shirts, actively adopted his slogan "We Will Never Give Up", and marched on the MCG in such numbers on Preliminary Day 2014 that it resembled the march on Mordor at the start of The Lord of the Rings movie.

Wake up babe, new Kingy putting Ken under pressure content just dropped.

Agree, whether King is having a crack at hinkley for genuine footy reasons alone, or he still has a bee in his bonnet about JHF's departure from norf he is obviously on the money with his comments.

We desperately need other Vic based `experts' to read the tea leaves though, nail the clowns running the club for the continued unearned extensions, and point out most other clubs would have said sayonara to kern for his abysmal final's record at least 5 years ago.

it was noticeable last night that when king mentioned Kenny's record whately was quiet no comeback comment

a couple in the media are going after him now, which is good, finally seeing what we have been seeing for years.

I'm not a king fan, but I'm loving his analysis of kenny and his failures.

when we lose on sunday I'm looking forward to the analysis on his show afterwards, i hope he really turns up the heat.

Probably the best I ever felt as PAFC fan since 1988 and member since 1997 was to be part of this. I did the club arranged bus trip to and from the MCG. Disappointing result in the end but was still mighty proud that year.

I was in the throng. Never felt more connected. Power in the Prelim, Magpies in the GF the next day. It felt like we were on the cusp of something special, but that day was actually the apex of it all and we've never recaptured it.

it was a shoulda coulda woulda result for me.

first quarter umps and bad kicking cost us dearly.

i recall the crowd being fever pitch in that last quarter during the comeback.

King has also brought up Port's performances against top four sides in particular not just the top eight on a couple of previous occasions. Maybe this deep dive is still to come as the season progresses.

Rumour time - from an email I received this morning:

"A young girl in our office is mates with Willem Drew and Kane Farrell's girlfriends. Well feedback is that the players want Ken gone. One always suspects this kind of stuff, but when you hear it literally from the horse's mouth, it makes you scratch your head and think, "Why have we still got him?"

It would certainly be a massive u-turn from August last year, when they carried on like overjoyed pork chops in the video of his extension being announced to the playing group.

Obviously things can change, and there's also the fact they were probably being performing seals in that video and just doing what the media team told them to do.

If you're in a room and they tell you he's staying, and you know he is a petty selfish prick who is happy to play favourites and ruin careers if you get on his bad side, what do you do? You cheer like your life depends on it.

Its a cult.

If this is true, maybe some players care about what happens on the field. It would renew some of my respect for them!

Ahhh yes. That wonderful announcement accompanied with various photos/ videos of Kenny the father figure. Then David Koch declaring it set us up for an exciting finals series.

I would love to know more about the "thorough process" that decided a coach in his 11th season without a GF appearance, an awful record against top 8 teams for more than a decade and 2 final wins in the prev 8 years needed to sign his fourth separate contact extension since being at the club before finals commenced taking his tenure into a 12th and 13th season.

It also renews my belief that maybe Carr won't be too bad once he takes over. At least his voice at training will be different to the monotone voice they've been hearing for the last 12 years. Hopefully the players will respond accordingly.
