We probably have one if not the worst cultures down at the club at the moment in world sport.

It is literally the narcissistic save your own job, get another contract by any means necessary, put in some effort when some outside pressure come up, slag off anyone who demands standards.

We are worse than the Crows.

I got some pushback from it before but we are a fascist regime.
Not to get political - but fascism promoted aesthetics, discipline, hard work and realising that the individual is not bigger than the state. Whereas the administration of the club are lethargic, greedy, corrupt, and weak. At least that's how you'd look at it from a Hegelian perspective - which would insinuate that the former would be the thesis to the latter's antithesis ergo the synthesis would see Port Adelaide Football Club become something like the Roman Empire

I've heard that Koch is actually quite self aware around his lack of football knowledge/experience and leans heavily on others when it comes to football matters. He's far from the biggest problem at the club.
If Koch jags a premiership in his time here, it will be a fluke. It won’t be because he’s actually Bob McLean incarnate and hasn’t organised a premiership capable admin around him just yet. Whatever self awareness he may have of his lack of football knowledge he doesn’t seem to have the same self awareness in his inability to appoint those to run a successful footy dept.

Koch doesn't need to be a football genius for us to win a flag. We just need him to be ruthless and to surround himself with people who will challenge him if things aren't going well. Instead we've got a club full of yes men. The CEO ffs. He's running a best friends club who plays football sometimes. Koch doesn't like holding people accountable, it's difficult, he didn't have to do it in his previous job as a morning TV buffoon.

We could absolutely win a flag under Koch, but it would be in spite of him, not because of him. Maybe if Davies moves on Koch will get lucky and hire a ruthless, high quality footy ops manager. But it won't be because the recruitment starts with that aim. It'll just be luck.

It’ll actually be both though, by definition.

He doesn't need to do that even. All he has to do is stay in his own lane, listen to people who understand the game and bring success.

Its just to lower expectations and give an out when they lose.

"We weren't expecting to win that game"

"Unfortunately fans aren't realistic, Gold Coast are a great side"
Conveniently omitting the fact that we would have lost to them for the first time in almost 5000 days.
