FWIW, I've been given no indication that Bucks is on Port's wishlist - and I've asked about it recently.

If for whatever reason they land Bucks, I'll go as far to say it will have been the most closely kept secret by the people running the Club under their regime.

Wishlist? 🤔 Are you saying that Josh carr isn't a certainty to be next coach?

Ken won’t be here next season. The extension was incompetence from Koch after publicly backing himself (and the club) into a corner after being caught out by the winning streak. He then didn’t have the gumption to swallow his pride and make the hard call.

At that point you can’t extend by 1yr so they gave him 2 with an agreement to hand over to Carr if we didn’t challenge for a flag this season. Ken accepted this as he gets the money for two years regardless.

We need to win probably 3 of our last 4 given our % to make finals and then the definition around “challenging” becomes interesting. I can’t see it happening.

Any decision / announcement won’t happen until we are officially out of the season.

Buckley turning down the WCE is madness if he ever wants to coach again. They are literally at rock bottom for them with EVERY SINGLE resource any club can offer! They are even treated as almost Victorian.

There is no better job for a redemption arc and never will be again.

The wishlist was in reference to their list of assistant coaches they will target/are targeting to get under Carr.

Carr will 100% be the next senior coach.

There is the Perth factor it's not for everyone.

Surely that factor doesn't cost 1 million a year. Probably more like 500k with his current earnings.

A major rebuild with Tasmania taking the most likely juniors in a couple of years ( Douglas Cochrane being talked about as Tasmania's 1st signing.)

So this year and next year to rebuild a decent midfield and defence before the junior talent pool drys up.

It is a really tough gig and the next coach is more likely to get burnt than see out 5 years.

Buckley is not leaving Melbourne to have the Perth media and West Coast supporter base turning his life to crap in 2 years.

This is about the fifth time we’ve heard this.

There’s every chance this charmed muppet wins his next three and goes into the final round with 15 wins and a top-2 berth on offer.

Tasmania would be the worst option for Buckley the first up coach of a new club never gets to the promise land, it's building from scratch with all the growing pains and they'll lop you when the first window is approaching.

Whilst I'm heartened by the idea that Ken will be gone soon, I'm disappointed that Carr has been all but appointed without an open selection process.

Surely the basic level of due diligence is to see who the best candidates available are rather than just closing shop and going with the guy in the neighbouring office... again.

And Darcy and Jackson run into each other at training and are ruled out under concussion protocols.

Honestly, if only a sliver of the things that have fallen into place for him since Tredders’ “untenable” comments had come to be circa 2014/15 he’d have at least 2 flags under his belt.

Doesn't want to be seen as Temu Malthouse again.

Yep. He was on his way out a week ago and then we beat 2nd placed Carlton.

Like clockwork for this kissed-on-the-dick loser, when he needs everything to go his way, it does.

We're in the middle of a season where there are no teams with any killer instinct and you could throw a blanket over the top 12. For us to miss the 8 and guarantee his departure, we'll have to lose at least 2 games against Sydney in freefall, a sputtering Melbourne, a cooked-list Adelaide and the most frequently clowned team in the modern era Freo. None of those teams are in great form.

So we make the 8, jag an EF win against one of the other dogshit teams sitting 5th-8th, then Davies and Hinkley meet with the board and old Kenny tells them he wants to see out his contract, and they let him because they can't tell him no.

Rowey talking to Brodie Grundy last night - Rowey informs him that Port have won their last 7 games against Sydney. The Swans won't be lacking motivation tomorrow night!!!

Surely Tassie as the next AFL Cinderella side are a better option.

Gold Coast and GWS have shown that job is not easy.

WCE have shown they can win flags not long after a spoon.
