I think (and this is me guessing) that it might have something to do with Perryman. He is invested in Ken, and so until Perryman picks a team I can see Port holding off doing anything with Ken.
This makes no sense. Why would they wait for Ken to get this guy to agree and then axe him, he'd just turn around and go somewhere else. I don't think we want someone who'se only reason to come here is for the coach, like this scenario you have just makes no logical sense for either side.

💯 Can we have players that play for the club thanks?

They're probably waiting for the membership auto renewals on the 10/10/24 to go through before announcing he is here to stay. They deep down would have to know that KH staying is going to receive significant member backlash.
Im keeping a very close eye on my bank account incase this mob attempts to hoover money from me after the "free membership" shenanigans they pulled late this year.

Ken is a brilliant salesman. And he has a strong record which he can point to of getting the best out of recruits who have come to Port during his tenure.

Ryder, Dixon, McKenzie, Matt White, Polec, Aliir etc all saw improvements in their play and consistent game time following their moves to Port.
That's a terrible reason to keep a person that fails when it counts.

This is why it doesn't matter how good the players are that come to us, nothing changes. What's the point if those players never see their full potential or a premiership, I would rather average players with a good coach. Choco was able to bring the best out in average players.

That is so mentality flawed, Joe Blow is good at human skills but rubbish at his job. Do you keep him?

I think the predicament is something like this:

Koch & the majority of the board are too scared to sack him and Tredrea doesn’t quite have the numbers to force the issue.
That’s admitting they faqd up and I don’t believe they have the cahunas anyway.

Ken has a contract and even though he knows he’ll be under pressure from the onset next year, he probably knows he’s not getting a gig anywhere else and also he’s that emotionally attached to this group, he won’t know what to do with himself without them. (“My boys, good boys”)

He won’t be in a healthy space to coach at all. And I can’t believe our board is going to tick off this scenario if this is all allowed to roll onto next year.

To add another layer, we apparently have a coach in waiting who’s dealing with his own personal issues to the point he hasn’t put himself up for some jobs with big clubs and I’m concerned about whether he’ll be able to give his all to such a demanding role because of this.
Yeh, who would have thought this could all unfold at ruthless little old PA. Ken is the past, even if the idiot stays, but I'm equally worried we are going to repeat the same mistakes & continue to operate as a social club/kiddie centre. I actually hate being a Port supporter atm.

Have done some digging this morning not saying the stuff i get fed is better than Chewys i dont think it is so take this with a grain of salt. Apparntley its 50-50 still if Ken will go or stay. If he stays we wont hear anything now but he will annouce before the start of next season, 2025 will be his last probably just prior to round 1 that way avoiding speculation during the season. Otherwise if he goes we will hear by Friday morning the latest.

I never said that Ken's salesmanship was reason to keep him. I was merely explaining why Perryman was impressed by Ken.

Not good enough. How is it still 50/50?

Announcing 2025 will be his last isn't good enough... Not even close...

**** the piss weak franchise.

Ken selling Perryman the club.

50% of our board should go even if they were good. Every board needs a healthy regular turnover to keep fresh ideas and enthusiasm up.

We've had too many board members in for over a decade AND a lack of success in that time. Osborn, Restas, Cardone and Koch all need to go.

Well he's failed to sell anything to me. I can spot a fraud a mile off.
